This trash can is more expensive than most other "plastic" cans, but it is worth every penny. (I bought a nifty red one, and it perks up the kitchen.) This can is extremely sturdy--it doesn't flex, when you push in on the sides--and it hold a lot. I don't have to buy special bags for it, either. I buy a box of 30 gallon Glad ForceFlex Plus, because they're strong, and they're available most anywhere. The bag is a little large for the can, so I tie a little knot in one side of the bag's opening to make it smaller. It fits, then, and works great, plus, the bag always stays in place. It never falls into the can, when I put garbage in it, no matter how heavy the items. When the can gets full, and I remove the bag, there is still enough room left to add all the trash from several other small trash cans in other rooms. I chose this can, because it fits under my commercial stainless steel sink with plenty of room left over for the top to flip up. This can came fully-assembled and packed very well. I'm totally satisfied with its quality and with how well it works. I would definitely buy this item, again. Read more

I've been using it for years. I never spent so much on a trash can and remember grumbling that it had better last my lifetime. So far, so good. It's solid, easy to clean and use, and my cats' fave perch, lol. Read more

OK it is a trash can. Opening portion is heavy duty & should last for years to come. Trash can part is Rubbermaid Brute which speaks for itself. A little expensive, but you get what you pay for. Read more

Seems this container will fit the bill for a hands free lidded hamper for a healthcare environment. I don't have too much doubt about the durability of this product, but I wish it was a little more rugged in the foot peddle assembly. I will write back if the longevity is less than respectable. My wife has begun peritoneal dialysis at home. This is the exact same trash can used by the dialysis clinic, and works very well. Rubbermaid makes it a complete mystery as to what bags (liners) to use. The answer is that 18-gallon trash compactor bags fit snugly, caught by the two prongs in back and stretched over the front corners. Since these are available in 2 mil thickness you can get a pretty sturdy bag. We tried 30-gallon bags, and they work, but they are loose and can slip down into the wastebasket. The 18 gallon bags are firmly supported. We chose to go with this model even though there is a newer "Slim Jim" model available. The reviews made the newer model sound less sturdy than this one, which is a tried-and-true design. Home peritoneal dialysis generates a lot of trash, and it is nice to have a robust container for it. Read more

This trash can is very sturdy and has a very large capacity. I Have a large family and got tired of emptying the kitchen trash so frequently. It takes a large 33 gallon garbage bag. The foot peddle is sturdy (unlike some other brands). The price was good. It is kind of tall, so make you have a good space for it. Well worth the money. This trash can will last a long time. I saw this at my doctors’ offices and searched and they were pricey. Of course! The quality is very good and I’m happy with it. I didn’t pay full price, I took chances on a returned item which was 50% but it was like brand new! It was still pricey at $40 but I’m happy with it. True to some reviews it’s hard to find the right size it’s a 13 gallon can but the bags that size won’t fit. Buy the commercial 18 gals at Costco and you’ll be good to go. Read more
