I hate taking out the trash. So, I figured, let's go big and then I wouldn't have to take the trash out as much. I tried another brand, but it was difficult to get the trash container out of the trash receptacle when it was full (you had to shake it back and forth, as the receptacle slowly shimmied its way out -- no bueno!). Also, the other one's foot-opening mechanism broke. So, after researching, this trash can came back with the best reviews and the biggest container (and the highest price -- ha!). Well, "I love trash container" (to channel Brick from the movie Anchorman). This thing holds a ton of trash (note: I use 33 gallon trash bags with drawstrings ... but I could probably even go 39 gallon). The receptacle inside pulls out super easily (when I want to remove my full trash bag). This also makes it super easy to clean. Also, the foot mechanism works super easily, too, when opening the top ... and the top then closes slowly and quietly on its own (no slamming top). I highly recommend, if you are willing to pay the higher price. Read more

wahat can i say, it just feels srange to say that i love this trash can, i mean it is a trash can right? but the size and shape and detailing are the kind of quality i thought were no longer available. the lift mechanism is rock solid and the fact that it does not just crash down when released is a nice touch. and finally, a classy waste basket that can actually hold more than a days worth of trash. i only recycle taxable beverage containers so no need for divided bins although you can get them. just a class act, last trash can you will ever need. did i mention it has zero clearance, snu it up to a wall and it still opens perfectly. I’ve purchased 6 of these for my work offices and one for my house. These are very well made, study heavy duty trash cans and nice looking too. Unfortunately they are very expensive. Ive had the same two cans in one office for at least four years with 90 staff using the break room. Never had a broken part and the foot pedal is durable. I highly recommend so bite the bullet on price and but it. You won’t regret it! Read more

This is quite a garbage can! I bought it for use in our kitchen and it looks huge. I love it because the design is solid and the materials are very good. The lid opens quick as it is pushed open by a steel rod connected to the pedal, but closes slowly. A 24 gallon trash bag fills completely in this trash can, and can be difficult to take out due to the weight. I believe it is worth the money as the lid mechanism is solidly constructed. Our earlier trash can had a spring-loaded opening that looked cute but did not last very long. Read more

I was misled into thinking this had two waste bins inside so I could separate trash and recycle in the same unit. That's the only reason why I purchased this. Currently throwing away all recyclables in the trash until I find a solution (i.e. returning this product or finding two smaller bins that fit inside). Read more

It works wonderful. It is very nice quality and very sturdy. However, I cannot give the last star because the bag is not as easy to put in and take out like I think it should be. But I would still recommend it. Read more

We got this wastebasket because the one we had wasn't practical, looked really bad--things kept falling out and got dirty really bad, needed to be washed regularly and wasn't big enough for our office)! Rubbermaid Slim Jim is perfect for our office! It's the right size, the look is very elegant and matches perfectly with our kitchen look and other appliances. It's super quiet and gentle! I recommend it to everyone who is in need of an elegant, practical, quiet, and big enough for an office of 15-25 people!! We are very happy with it! Read more

This review is more about the pricing and item description on the website not being clear enough to "me". The product images shows the capability to separate recyclables and garbage by using "Optional Duel-Stream Ridged liners". My assumption on this was that these came with the product and they were "optional to use", not "optional to purchase", especially as my last garbage can had this function. Essentially, I just spent almost $390 on a garbage can as I needed to purchase the additional PLASTIC liners at $100. I feel this description should be very clear they are not included by an alert posted on the product. I already thought it was overpriced, but ultimately I can't find something similar and don't want to go through the return process. Up to you to weigh that value if you are looking for that same function, but here is a tip: if you really want the split liner function save yourself $50 and order them together at least... >< https://www.amazon.com/Rubbermaid-Commercial-1902001-Wastebasket-Front-Step/dp/B00Q4MLII6/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8 Read more
