Love this trash can and the lid we purchased separately. Expensive, yes but all good trashcans are. (just take a look at simplehuman prices, ick!). Everything works great and it fits perfectly in my small trash spot, its just we are having issues finding a bag that fits. The 13 gallon certainly doesn't fit so I got 20 gallon. Even the 20 gallon doesn't have a mouth wide enough to go around the top. I'm wondering if its the drawstring kind thats the issue as it doesn't stretch enough. So we'll try 30 gallon, but in a 16 gallon trash bin it seems a waste. I wonder if I can find a non drawstring wide mouth 20 gallon? The search continues. Read more

I bought one of these because the ones at the office are awesome. The mouth on the 16 gal model is the same as the mouth on the larger 23 gal model so that they can take the same lids. This did make finding the right size trash liner/bag difficult, but thanks to ULINE's website, I found that 30in W x 36in H bags fit the 16 gallon model perfectly, and I confirm that they do. The 30in wide mouth fits very snugly over the entire top of the can if pulled down to just cover the handles. There isn't enough extra mouth width to feed the bag down through the holes and slots designed to hold the bag in place, but because the mouth fits so snugly, one does not need to do so. 36in height appears to be just barely enough to reach the bottom with the mouth pulled down just over the handles (about 4in of length wasted). A 30in W x 40in H bag would probably be the maximal fit for the liner to completely hug the inside of the can, but this is close enough. I am using a minimum of 1mil thick bag. Anything less would probably tear due to the potential weight and sharp objects that will go in my trash can. Read more
