I purchased this trash can in June of 2019 and I’m writing this review in April of 2025. When I purchased this trash can I was so hesitant due to the price and money being tight due to my recent separation. However, I wanted a trash can that would hold up to constant use. Well, almost 6 years later, we’re still using this trash can and it works just as well as it did the first day I received it. I like the fact of a hands free lid on the trash can, in this day and age that’s very important. The red goes perfectly in my Campbells kitchen. The base is a plus with the rod holding it away from the wall a couple inches really saves the wall from getting beat up like my old can did.. Read more
I purchased this in the 13 gallon red. It looks nice, although it would've been nicer had Rubbermaid put their logo on the back instead of the top front. It also doesn't sit flush against the wall, due to the metal bar in back. The only question I have is how long the hinge on the cover will last. It is just molded plastic, not reinforced in any way. I notice in some of the other reviews that the hinge didn't last past a few months due to the flimsy hinge. It doesn't take much pressure to open the lid enough to throw something away, my suggestion is to try not to stomp too hard when discarding anything. Pressing lightly is enough to open it. Other than that, it is a really nice looking trash can. Read more
