It was a little bit of a pain to understand how to set it up in the first place, but once set up, it's been a workhorse in our car for keeping essentials in place and making them easy to transport in and out of the car as needed. With an SUV, the trunk of the car was often a mess and the cargo nets were fine, but kind of tough to get stuff in and out of if it was too small or had poles. This box camouflages well in the trunk, doesn't slide around, is lightweight for when we need to carry it some distance, and holds more than you'd expect at first glance. The straps make it a lot easier to tote around than a regular box and the straight sides mean we can maximize the space in the trunk without the sloped sides of regular totes. Read more
This tote is exactly what I needed in my adventuring life. Too often I've had times where I didn't have a durable enough tote, or I felt guilty about getting a good one dirty as it was going to be a pain to try to get it clean again, or I would never be able to get it clean again. This tote has all my bases covered. Once assembled I've had zero stress about what I've put this thing through as the top of the line materials and construction have proven to be worth every penny. From muddy shoes and clothing, to groceries, to my rockhounding finds I've been able to carry it all in this tote and then be able to get it clean without hassle after. This tote is wonderfully durable in materials and construction in fabric, stitching, zippers, everything. The storage space is excellent and it can hold more weight than I am physically able to carry. The lifetime guarantee is the cherry on top of this expertly designed piece of gear. Read more
Full disclosure, I got this free to test and review. One pro is It is mostly very high quality except for the window in the side which feels pretty thin and will be the weak point over time. I don't understand the window anyway. The window has a built in pocket to insert a label I assume, but this would be much better if they just put a clear pocket on the side for a label and left the window out, again because it will be the weak point. Another negative I see is the lid has a small lip and while it seems secure when strapped down, the corners can still be fairly easy popped open and I think water in will get in, especially in windy conditions like in the back of a truck. However I believe the biggest negative is the price. For the price of one of these you can go to any big box store and get about 15 heavy duty plastic totes that will hold just as much or more, and the lids will be more secure. It is nice you can fold it up and put it out of the way, but if you don't really need that convenience, there are much cheaper options out there. Read more

The RUX 70L collapsible gear box is an awesome tote! First the quality of the box is top notch and feel very strong and durable. The interior is huge and holds plenty of gear for the beach, camping, or anything else you need it for. The lid straps down tight and the whole unit collapses down to a reasonable size for storage. Only down side to this box is the extremely high price. Overall I'm happy with the Rux box and have loved using it this summer. Read more
I really appreciate the foldable design of this rather large tote box. It folds flat for storage, but opens up into a massive totable bin for holding essential gear while protecting it from the elements. It is waterproof, but it is not submersible. The cover doesn't seal up to prevent water intrusion that you might encounter with white water rafting or breaking waves on the open water. But I don't think it's designed for that. It's designed to keep your stuff secure and dry in wet, rainy, muddy conditions and to be as durable as possible for some pretty rugged conditions. This is a high-end, thoughtfully designed foldable transport box. It's also rather expensive. I put this in a top-of-the-line outdoor gear category, not unlike the YETI cooler line. That means, in my book, best-in-class and made with no-compromise materials. I also like the idea that it is designed and used by experienced and self-reliant Canadians. According to the listing, it is constructed of "840D TPU-coated nylon." I understand that this is a type of fabric that combines the strength of 840 denier nylon with the durability and waterproof properties of TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) coating. According to my Google searches, this combination "results in a high-performance material well-suited for various applications, especially those requiring waterproof, airtight, and abrasion-resistant properties." When I first received this, I was a little challenged by the required assembly of the spring steel corner supports called stays or battens. After some trial and error, I got them inserted knowing I had it right because I can see the RUX logo in the inside corner opening that you insert them through. I also know I won't ever have to do this assembly again, unless of course, I can afford to buy another one someday. Read more
