The device did not perform as advertised. This SABRENT USB4 Hub, Travel Dock Hub with 2 USB-C Ports, 1 USB-A Port, HDMI 2.1, 2.5GbE was to perform at a network speed of 2.5GbE. The card never achieved even a speed of 1.0GbE. I contacted the Seller (Store4PC) directly within the 30 days return window and explained the problem. The Seller wanted to troubleshoot the problem, I agreed. I explained to the Seller that I did not want to lose my right to return the product if the issue was not resolved. After extensive troubleshooting, the problem was not resolved and the Seller sent me a new device. The new device performance was the same as the first. I notified the Seller and requested a refund. I was told by the Seller that I was now outside the 30 days window and no refund would be issued. My first contact with the seller was made within the 30 days return window Read more

this is not usb4! where do they get off putting usb4 in the title when the ports are just usb 3.2 which is not 4?! it should be titled usbc 3.2 with hdmi 2.1 and 2.5 gbe which is why it is pricey. its 2026 and still cant get usb4 under a 100 bucks i shoud have known it was a scam. way to get a return sabrent! I got this usb4.0 hub primarily to be used with my iPad Pro exclusively but on occasion with one of my 2021 MBAir. It is small and portable because it’s lightweight and I do not need a ton of ports when on the go or when using my iPad Pro. This is a USB 4.0 device so make sure you don’t try to connect any TB4 devices into the usb-c ports it will not work. For all other external USB-C SSD’s, they all function perfectly. Speeds on the two USB-C ports give you full 10Gb/s throughput and the USB-A 3.0 is full 5Gbps tested. As for PD 3.0 output power to the host, it only gives my 16.2-inch MBP a maximum of 79W charging (this is using a 140W USB-C and Apple OEM Power supply. There are no PD support for the two usb-c ports but docs say it will charge devices up to 7W. The 2.5Gb ethernet is exactly what I needed and the HDMI 2.1 is to date in 2023. With any Mac, it’s only going to be 4K@60Hz but PC can do full 48Gbps bandwidth. Both iPad and my MBAir/MBP’s will all do 4K@60Hz. On my QHD 144Hz LG monitor, it will do QHD@144Hz. Using adaptive sync strangely drops it down to 100Hz. If you are going to be using a PC, you’re going to have the best of HDMI2.1 but on a Mac/iPadOS, you’re gonna miss out on the HDMI2.1 so buyers beware. Limitation of the Mac itself (*may* work with some EDID tinkering, 100% works with USB-C to DisplayPort adapter), NOT the Sabrent USB4 hub. The enclosure is thin metal and when apply external power to the hub, it will heat up but not get HOT - just warm. There are no abnormalities like coil whine when plugged in and everything looks quality built. Perhaps a small carry pouch would’ve been nice to have included but at the higher price tag, it can be seem a bit expensive considering there are only 3 ports, an HDMI, and an ethernet. But having HDMI 2.1 and a 2.5Gb ethernet shouldn’t be that much more expensive so had this been cheaper with discount, it would’ve been an easy 5-star product for me. Read more

I'm not going to dock any stars because there aren't enough ports though, because the listing clearly states what ports it DOES have. So I knew what to expect when I ordered this. I also already knew that the power pass through wasn't enough for the Microsoft Surface Book 2. Which wasn't that big of a deal to me, because using the Surface's own charger doesn't actually use any extra ports, as it has this specific magnetic port that is only for the charger. As far as the rest of the ports and features go, they are just future proofing for someone like me. I have a 4K monitor as a 2nd monitor, but even if I had an 8K monitor, I don't think any of the video services that I have even play anything in 8K yet. So the HDMI port on this hub is plenty enough for me right now. Then there's the transfer speeds. My Microsoft Surface Book can only transfer things at a maximum rate of 5Gbps. If you are someone with a Surface Book 3 though, I'm pretty sure it's maximum transfer rate is 10Gbps. And finally, the ethernet port. Where I live we still haven't been allowed to have access to 2.5GbE (or whatever it's called). Which is pretty angry making, since I've seen proof of regular citizens in other countries having access to internet speeds MUCH faster than even 2.5GbE, over TEN years ago! I was probably most exited to just have something made by SABRENT though. I'm telling y'all, this is a company to watch, and check out if you haven't already. I often see what kind of external SSD storage devices are out there, because for a while the largest capacities I could find were 2 terabytes. It's only recently that I've started to see them with maximum storage capacities of 4 terabytes. That is, until I came across SABRENT. From what I've seen out here on Amazon from them, they apparently produce external storage devices with maximum capacities of 4TB, 8TB, and even 16TB. However, the only one of those I've ever seen in stock yet is the 4TB one. Regardless, definitely something to look into if large solid state storage is something you're looking for. As for this USB4 hub? If it has the amount of ports you're looking for, I would definitely recommend it. Read more
