These drives are perfect for older machines that need a new lease on life. I have used Samsung hard drives for years - alongside Western Digital and Hitachi - and have yet to have any real problems with them. This is an older drive, so the speed is not as great as the newer units, but it works perfectly for what I needed it for: extending the life of a Dell desktop that had a failing drive in it. It is surprisingly hard to find smaller platter drives these days, but the school I do IT support for needed a smaller drive for one of their classroom PCs and this fit the bill. Bad drive. Anytime I try to copy a file to a from the drive I get a CRC error. Possibly due to bad sectors. Read more

I love it! I use it as a test hard drive, so i'll install linux on it one week and see how much storage i can cram in mods the next! It's a beautiful hard drive and i reccomend it for anyone who doesnt care about capacity, but cares about the little things. Read more
