Bought off brand charger and didn't even last a month. Decided to go with Samsung product. Well....it lasted a couple weeks before the 35 watt charge port quit working. To add insult to injury, it happened the day before Hurricane Milton. Now I'm stuck with it cause I kept the box this time, but return windows closed 2 days ago. This adapter is configured in a frustrating way. Because it has a total output of 35W, you might expect that if you have a low-current device on the USB-A port, you should still be able to get 25W or 30W out of the USB-C port. What actually happens, though, is that connecting any device at all to the USB-A port immediately drops the USB-C port to a hard restriction of 20W, regardless of how much current the USB-A device is actually using. So, on USB-C, you get either 35W with no USB-A device connected or 20W with any USB-A device connected — nothing in between. For an example, I have a Samsung 15W wireless charging stand, which requires at least 25W of input to operate. I also have a rechargeable bike headlamp, which charges over microUSB at a VERY low current (less than 2 W). Connecting the bike headlamp to this adapter while my wireless charger is also connected will cause the wireless charger to immediately stop working, because its input has been dropped to 20 W, even though my bike headlamp doesn't draw or need anything close to 15 W. I'm giving four stars because this adapter costs just $5 more than Samsung's 25W single-port USB-C adapter, so it is still a good buy in spite of this shortcoming. It is easy to see that an entire extra port plus up to 10W more over USB-C is easily worth five bucks even if the second port does not work perfectly. Read more
