Danny LimNovember 18, 2025

Pros: -Waterproof resistant proof IP68 -Strap band feels durable, I love lightweight titanium material feel! -I love Titanium Blue color -very easy to setup the watch -excellent battery life -can connect to your phone as optional -timestop watch included, you can monitor your heart rate, walking, running exercise, etc. -flashlight is also included Cons: -Very expensive smart watch -battery can drain fast if you have too many apps running in the background -requires screen protector and case to prevent damaging your watch Verdict: This is an excellent smart watch if you need to keep an eye on your clock while working during shift. Men should buy the Ultra, larger band!

David H.September 3, 2025

Very fast and responsive, latest available OS makes a big difference. Integration with Android phone is much more refined and polished. Battery life is definitely better than the non Ultra 8 model. I know this because I bought that one also for my wife (it's slimmer), it also works well, but seems to need a daily charge. The ultra can get me 1.5 days with my typical use. The body and heart sensors seem to be stable. I love the default watch face as it is very configurable with colors, complications, and apps. If you edit it up to your liking, you might be surprised, I was. Seems to be quality built, time will tell. Works well in Bluetooth mode, Wi-Fi and 4G LTE cell eSim use without phone. Auto switching to cell data when phone out of range, doesn't use extra battery to maintain cell link if it is unnecessary. Very clear audio speaker and Mic. The audio speaker is a fuller more natural sound on the Ultra compared to the standard Galaxy Watch 8 version. Also final thought to consider, the Ultra has a larger diameter watch band that fits my wrist with 3 holes to spare in the band. The standard 8 has a much smaller band, it felt like a tourniquet on my wrist, and could barely get it into the last hole. I learned this trying to set it up for my less technical wife. Band is so small, I doubt any normal or even slender man would be able to use it. Big fail on product testing for US market there. Otherwise great watches. Read more

Great Watch with some Caveats

RICARDO D. WILSONNovember 11, 2025

It's a great watch and overall the functionality is strong. Build quality is excellent! The health apps workout tracker would benefit from some refinement meaning. When using the treadmill it does not account for elevation which increases the distance estimation that is captured on the treadmill. However the app is going to be off when it comes to the estimated distance traveled. Yes you can edit this at the end of your workout but the edit feature limits how much more you can increase the completed distance. You can put it in your notes on your phone if you want to track it. The same thing goes for the Floors (Step Mill, StairMaster). All the other features seem fairly accurate and useful. Battery life is great! I definitely recommend it if you want a smart watch. The one downside is if you want to use the call function you have to add that onto your plan for an extra monthly fee. Otherwise it's a keeper. Read more

Great watch with wonderful utility, Samsung has upped their game.

Orion HaleAugust 10, 2025

I did extensive research before purchasing this watch, and it has exceeded my expectations. My main criteria were: 1. Full LTE support on T-Mobile for Android 2. A sapphire screen 3. Native Gemini support without workarounds 4. Google Wallet integration I’ve avoided Samsung products in the past because of what I saw as unnecessary bloat and overlays on Android. However, when it came to watches that met my requirements, options were limited. I considered waiting for the Pixel 4, but I don’t like its bubble styling, and the front glass isn’t sapphire. Since I’m hard on watches, I knew that combination would likely lead to scratches quickly. Ultimately, Samsung won me over by making it easy to integrate native Google apps, including Google Wallet, directly on the watch. It connects seamlessly to my Pixel phone, and I’m not missing any features I’d get with a Samsung phone. I also appreciate the lack of ecosystem lock-in. The LTE works flawlessly, and overall, I’m enjoying the added functionality compared to my previous watch. Battery life is outstanding: I typically end the day with 70–75% remaining, and it charges back to 100% in about 30 minutes. While I don’t wear it to bed, I’m confident it could handle overnight tracking and still be ready with a quick morning charge. My only minor complaint is the plasticky stock band, but there are plenty of alternatives, I’ll probably switch to leather or another style. This is hardly worth deducting a star and is more about me getting used to wearing a watch again after a long time. The charging cable that comes in the box is also super short and is unfortunately attached to the cable. I found a 3rd party adapter that lets you use any USB-C cable which works much better for my needs. Read more

Too complex, too fragile (settings), too expensive, too big

Brice deGanahlDecember 20, 2025

The watch is complex. So complex you either dedicate days of investigation and watching videos trying to understand or you use a mostly disabled watch. When you do any change, there are normally 20 or so options that you must understand each option. Get one wrong and the thing doesn't work or starts interrupting other functions. Nothing works right the first time. I could never get the thing to come on when I bring it to my face...that function just didn't work even when turned on. Finally I turned on the display permanently. But then, if the power ever gets low on the battery, Samsung turns this setting off and you have to go back in and reset it. When the watch display turns off then, you can't look at the watch. It is a two handed operation to see the time (press a button). This auto-turn-off the display gets turned on usually every day or at most every other day. Because of the bluetooth error, "connected for calls only", finally, I reset the watch and start over. The watch wouldn't connect to my Samsung s25 ultra phone. This is the highest tech piece of junk I've seen. Read more
