tbh, this was a splurge product for me. i feel it's too expensive, but it's the least expensive of smart switches that offer dimming, so i had to pay for that premium. that said, it works absolutely great. i set it up with the same Tuya app i use for all my other smart switches, connected it to google assistant etc, and it works GREAT. you can set a minimum dim value so it won't go below a certain % when on. you can ask google to turn it on or off which will start it at the last dimmed setting, but you can also tell google to set it to x% and it will. i love it! that said, i am not using it for a dimmable lamp, which is it's main purpose, but i'm actually using it to control a fan. i leave the fan on "high", and then just tell google to turn it on or off with this and what % i want it at. i love it, my fan only had 2 settings, low and high, and low was still too fast/loud for normal use, so with this i can reduce the power with the switch to set it to any speed, even below the 'low' setting! I was looking forward to using this because it had a dimming function, which is pretty rare on smart plugs. Unfortunately, I never got that far. You can’t do anything until you pair it using the app, and this one simply will not pair. The instructions are confusing, and are not specific for this device. For example, they say to put the device in pairing mode, but they never explain how to do that. But how hard it is to pair a smart plug? I’ve done lots of them before, and I’m very comfortable with tech. It should take maybe 2 minutes tops. You hold down the button until it blinks blue, and then it connects. But this one will not pair. I tried resetting it, unplugging it, red/blue blinking, blue-only blinking, you name it, many attempts, over half an hour - I even tried a different phone. But the Starfish app will not recognize it. And based on other reviews, I also tried the Tuya app, also with no success. I’m returning this dud. Read more

The satco app appears to be defunct since the company was acquired by Tuya, so don’t waste your time, just download Tuya Smart and set it up that way. I suspect this plug works with the Feit app as well, but haven’t tested it. The plug works as expected, and the dimming is smooth. I have it linked to an ikea motion sensor via alexa. Read more

I have a string of Satco lights that I control via starfish and I was wondering if there was a similar timer that I could use for other items and there is! I bought this to control holiday lights and I’m seriously considering giving them to my family as stocking stuffers this year. What I really like is that when the power went out a couple of weeks ago, I didn’t need to reset the timer like I did with manually controlled ones. Great product! Read more
