Satechi 7-in-1 Ethernet hub hacked. Be careful what you use this for.
I would have given 5 stars if I didn’t find out that my neighbors are hacking my Ethernet and controlling this devices ability to connect. I have a feeling that it is more so related to my Verizon wireless 5g home internet being compromised from the get go. Router was purchased from the Verizon Corporate store at the Beverly Connection in Los Angeles, CA. Before even plugging it in, I received notification that my information had been leaked on the dark web. I didn’t think much of it because all I could see was that the info may have included my email address. After being gangstalked overtly for at least the last 3 years, I have taken all of my stuff off WiFi. I have used an older version of the 7-in 1 Satechi hub for about just as long as I’ve been stalked and just recently noticed that one of two of my devices wasn’t working when using Ethernet. I thought it was my iPads connection but the power cable and other peripherals still worked so it wasn’t a bad connection. I thought it was the cable so I ordered a brand new hub. After ordering the new hub I noticed that it was working just fine and that the connection didn’t drop when the cable was moved, even pulled on. I have come to the conclusion that it is not the device’s cable that has gone bad, my hacker neighbors were just letting me know, the same as they have told me in the past, that they “control the internet”. My theory is that the sales person at Verizon is the one who put my router info on the dark web and someone related to or with knowledge of their scam activities has been playing with my internet connection all along. All of my personal info has been compromised and any passwords I create are automatically posted on the dark web. It is not the fault of Satechi per se but I thought Ethernet was a safe way to use the internet. I had no idea that the hub could be controlled remotely. Word of the wise, trust no one and if multi factor authentication was ever something you overlooked, now is a great time to start setting it up. Dark web crime is only going to get worse. I’ve gone to the authorities and reported this to the FBI on two occasions and have received no help. If this happens to you, make sure you’re documenting everything. I give three stars.
