Santa got this for our 7 year-old son for Christmas, and he absolutely loves it! TLDR: If you are looking for a big step up from cheap Walmart RC junk, absolutely buy this! This was the first perfect 5.0 score product I've seen on Amazon. As long as they don't nerf the build quality, it deserves it. Detailed Review: First, the truck itself is an absolute beast! I very much appreciate the metal and hard plastic bottom plate. It protects the truck from the elements and adds a good amount of weight and durability. I'm sure it will also be one of the first things you notice. The steering servos are covered and it has dual arms for the shocks. They really did consider the common RC fail points in this design. The Red, White, and Blue color scheme is very welcome at our house, and perfectly matches the American flag out front. However, it may look good, but it runs great! The wheels and tires are well-made and have solid traction. The motor is also very powerful. Therefore, you won't be constantly running over to it because it's stuck again. Anyone with RC experience will know exactly what I'm talking about. As others have stated, the battery life is nothing less than phenomenal. I'm used to huge battery bricks that you have to cram in and only last 15 minutes. Or even worse, like with cheap modern RC, a built-in battery that makes the whole thing disposable. This comes with TWO small dual-cell battery packs that are held firmly in place with a velcro strap. You can charge one while using the other for unlimited run time. We have been able to get about an hour of use per battery. However, your situation may be a bit different. I say this because the thing is FAST! For our son we have the speed turned almost all the way down. I expect if you run it at full-tilt, you may not get as much run time per battery. Which brings me to my next favorite part of this RC. The amount of control you get from the remote. You get the usual trim settings to make sure it drives straight, but you also get speed control and turning strength. The latter you will want to adjust based on speed. I turned the speed to max and absolutely had to make the turning strength lower to accommodate. You'll see what I mean and be grateful for the adjustment capability. If I were to change one thing it would be the cover for the adjustment switches on the remote. It's a bit flimsy, and doesn't close firmly on ours. It's nice that the remote is very light for kids, but I would like just a bit more attention here. That said, I would much prefer a flimsy adjustment switch cover to any loss in quality on the truck itself. Growing up I had many different RC cars. In fact, I still have an old Heads-Up RC car sitting on the shelf in my office. I want to share this hobby from my childhood with my son, but had been wholly unimpressed with the cheap junk found here and in stores. I also didn't want to spend $500. This truck is the perfect find. Finally, something that feels like a modern upgrade from what I had, and at a fair price. You really can't go wrong here! Cheers Read more
Excellent entry RC toy ride and yes, it is all wheel (4WD) drive. This is a hearsay review (got this as a bday gift for my brother from another mother) however my bro loves this RC car and has tested it out (and has many more plans for this funky car). The speed is amazing and you gotta get used to the controls so a good learning toy (bro is a manchild who turned 30 and loves all things cars). I got this model after some research because a hobby should also be affordable/sustainable and this toy is all that (not expensive for what it is, a good quality RC car while also having repair-ability. Locally there are very limited options for quality RC toys (we live in beautiful Fiji) so am thankful this car was priced most decently (as everything can break and maintenance helps conservation). Might update review more after further fun activities (we plan to race this with my ebike...kinda like David v a very nerdy goliath) but for now I respectfully recommend this to folks who wish to have educational and fun toys for themselves or family (in the VinDiesel sense hehe). Will definitely buy again (or from same brand). Can't say much about battery life yet but a full charge is recommended for full fun. Vinaka (thanks) from Fiji. Read more
This car is great fun, fast & nimble, a joy to use on various terrains.. easy controls & trim can tweak it for younger kids. Not only that, but when I inevitably broke a couple of parts, the seller was super helpful & really looked after me Easily far more that $70ish dollars worth of fun! Many thanks Read more
Great toy for all ages! Love that you can adjust the speed and steering sensitivity. It truly is a game changer and gives you the ability to adjust your vehicle on the fly. Battery life is decent, maybe 30mins ran wide open on max speed settings. Can take a beating (thank goodness for the skid plate) lol. Amazing value, worth every penny! Read more
My son bought this and within minutes of driving it we realized it would not turn left. We finally found out what was wrong with it but it’s extremely hard to find the specific part for it. Read more
I would not recommend this RC car. I wouldn’t say I know a ton about the RC world, but I’ve tried my fair amount and can tell you the quality of this car is terrible. It will turn one way, but not the other. It bogs down when going into reverse, when changing the sensitivity, it still has a response lag with the throttle and is super jumpy. My son’s little $60 monster truck RC car works way better than this does. Read more
This is a car for speed, not stunts. Instead of doing a straight line race, I setup a complicated course with lots of turns, and then challenged people to complete it. You get about an hour of play time, and then you have to charge for a couple hours. And it's fast! Really fast. Maybe not the fastest of all, but it's close. It's a lot of fun to play with, and the remote helps you. It has some fine tuning available to help, especially for beginners. For example a reversing switch to help with steering when you drive in reverse, and a max-speed setting. The manual shows all the details of the cars' parts, with names and how they connect. It comes with tools so you can take the car apart, perhaps for fun, perhaps to clean it. Or maybe to change the shocks (you get two extras). To change the battery you have to remove the shell, and I actually ran without the shell for a bit just because it's easier to get to the battery that way. They put in some careful attention to detail when they made this, and it's seems like a very high quality product, with plenty of metal to go along with the plastic parts. Read more
The remote control is very responsive with good range, and the battery life is solid for non-stop fun. Overall, it's powerful, exciting, and perfect for both kids and adults who love speed and off road action Read more
