TLDR: This folding lock is my favorite for securing my scooter, offering a sturdy, rattle-free attachment. It outperforms other folding locks and even rivals many U-locks with its silver rating. The only minor issue is the bulkiness of the key, but its laser-cut design enhances security. This lock has become my go-to choice for securing my scooter. What sets it apart is how seamlessly it attaches to the scooter, maintaining a low profile without any annoying rattling while riding. I own two other folding locks, but this one is clearly superior in terms of build quality. One of the key strengths of this lock is its silver security rating, which is comparable to, if not better than, many U-locks on the market. It offers a solid level of security that I trust. My only slight criticism, which isn't significant enough to affect my overall rating, is the size of the key. It's a bit bulky for my preference. A more streamlined key would be ideal. However, the advantage of the key is its laser-cut design, which makes it more resistant to picking, adding an extra layer of security. As with most locks, I'd still advise against leaving your bike or scooter outside overnight. Even the best locks can't always deter a determined thief, and passersby often don't intervene in theft situations. Despite this reality, this lock provides a strong defense for everyday use. It's a sturdy product, cool color. I didn't realize what were important to me though. I like keeping my equipments clean like first day and avoidant of signs of damage. I realized with my bike it would be difficult to do so with this lock, because I would need to apply some force in pulling the lock. I also didn't find the plastic material both on the lock and the case. With a couple use it would start showing wear and tear easily. It was also not easy to fit it in and take it out. I wasn't sure if it's because of the first time use, but I found it difficult to take it in and out. Overall, I still think it delivers what it promises, so no comments on that. Read more

If your bike is parked where it is not visible to to the public, then, where's there's a will (and the technology) there's a way. Having said that, in 98% of the situations that typically occur, this lock will greatly discourage most bike thieves who vastly prefer the "hit and run" option. Seems to me then that statistically this type of lock is pretty "secure." It works as advertised and is well made. The whole concept, the folding aspect in particular, is brilliant and moves easily. It is hefty but you should expect that. I will say this is not the only brand with similar features so do your homework and search for your options from other dealers. If you've invested a great deal in a bike, (and especially if it's not unusual for you to leave your bike unattended for long periods of time) the expense is worth it. I will say carefully consider the diameter of the opening because it's not probably going to reach quite as far as you might prefer. You may have to search for other objects to secure the bike to. This is usually only a minor inconvenience. Very large poles sometimes have too much girth to handle the lock's diameter. Depending on where you attach it to your bike (concealed in a bike trunk would be the ideal) gravity (under some circumstances) and road vibrations may cause the case (w/lock) to change position during the course of a ride. This is relatively minor but something to consider. I'm very happy with the purchase. I imagine that chain-type locks of longer length are a bit easier to use (and more flexible for sure) but they are probably more vulnerable to being cut. Read more
