This is currently my preferred facial and body wash. i cannot afford to use it as a body wash, so i just use it for my face. It does not leave my skin tight and dry like soap, and that's why i use it. Also, i think the pH issue sounds rational. Note: Some people do not like the fragrance. It is somewhat strong, though it does not bother me personally. If you know anyone that uses it, check out the smell first, if you're really sensitive to fragrances. It also has a blue-green coloring to it, so there's that issue to consider if you have such sensitive skin as to have trouble with coloring. Read more
I initially purchased this product from Costco and was so excited to see it on Amazon. I had always had issues with dry skin during the winter months but after using this product, my skin has stayed well moisturized. The scent reminds me of a child’s shampoo, but it’s not over powering. I would definitely recommend this body wash. Read more
Few people understand the myth of a pH balance. It doesn't apply to the inside or outside of our body. Our body's skin is naturally acidic--between 5.0 and 5.5 pH--which helps it ward off the advances of harmful bacteria and fungi. We've been educated to believe that a pH balance of 7 is ideal, but that's not true. To help maintain the skin's fatty protective layer, use a cleanser with a pH level similar to that of the skin itself. If you use a soap that's too alkaline, it will break up the acid in your skin, causing dryness. When I use Sebamed, which has a pH of 5.5, my skin does not dry out. Read more
