When I saw these, they brought back memories of wearing saddle shoes to elementary school. I love a sharp and tailored shoe for work because I am often in jeans and a sweater. A great shoe elevates my outfit, but it's important that they are comfortable, so I've started seeking out a more tailored and classy shoe to wear with my normal 'teacher uniform.' These are SO stylish! These were comfortable enough to wear all day on my feet, and I received a ton of compliments. I wore no-show socks with them, but I'm considering ordering some ruffle socks to wear with them, too. If you are sensitive to shoes rubbing your ankle bone, you probably shouldn't wear no-show socks. Just as a note, with narrow toed shoes, I often size up a half size. I am typically a 7.5, and I ordered an 8. While they fit, I do think 7.5 would have been the better call. I think the price is a great value, and they seem well constructed thus far. Read more

Let me start by saying that I had been looking forward to these arriving from the moment I ordered them—I love oxford saddle shoes,, so I really wanted to love these. Out of the box, the look did not disappoint. The design is exactly as described and pictured: vintage-inspired, nicely built, and a great overall aesthetic. The length is spot on, and the toe box offers plenty of room. That said, I ran into a couple of issues. The biggest drawback for me is the fit through the middle of the foot—it runs quite narrow. Full disclosure, I do have wider feet than most, but I can usually wear standard sizes without a problem. Here, the narrowness was noticeable enough to make the shoes uncomfortable. The second problem is the laces. While I appreciate the attempt to color-match with the brown wingtip detail, the laces have a slick, plastic-like finish that refuses to stay tied no matter how many times you double-knot them. Trust me when I say that we have ALL had laces like these on shoes we've loved, and it's super frustrating when this is an issue on what would otherwise be a perfect pair of shoes. Lastly, support is minimal. These might work for shorter wear, but I don’t see them holding up comfortably for all-day office use without adding insoles or swapping out laces. Overall, they’re stylish and well-made in appearance, but the narrow fit, slippery laces, and lack of support keep these from being a pair I can fully recommend. Otherwise, if you don’t mind replacing the laces (or having to repeatedly tie them) and no support), I think these are likely a pretty good nice choice for you.
