I LOVE this timer in my first grade inclusion class! They love it too! I love that it doesn't need batteries or to be charged, it's like and old school kitchen timer. It's large enough for me to display on my whiteboard and the whole class can see. That is another reason I love it because it has 2 huge stripes ng magnets on the back that hold it to my whiteboard. It also has a stand for if I need to move it or take it with me to recess. It did start to stop ticking and would not go off after almost a whole school year of using it daily. I contacted the company and they were very quick to send a response and replacement. I couldn't recommend this timer and company more. I've actually talked 3 coworkers at school into to buying them! They love it too! The kids were so sad when it stopped working and were so lost without it. They are going to be so excited when they see the new working timer tomorrow!! Thank you Secura!!! I use this Secura 7-inch 60-Minute Visual Countdown Timer to help my kids understand the concept of time — whether it’s how much longer they have to play, how long a time out lasts, or how much time is left before bedtime. The large red visual display makes it easy for them to see at a glance how much time is left, which really helps them grasp timing in a way numbers alone can’t. Pros: • Visual countdown: The red dial shows remaining time clearly, making it easy for kids to understand. • No batteries required: Simple mechanical design that just works. • Versatile placement: Strong magnet for sticking on the fridge, or it can stand on a counter. • Easy to use: Just twist the dial — no complicated settings. • Durable and practical: Sturdy enough for daily use in a busy household. Cons: • Limited to 60 minutes, so not suitable for longer timing needs. • Ticking sound may be noticeable in very quiet environments. Overall, this timer is a practical tool for teaching kids about time, managing routines, or just keeping track of tasks. It’s simple, reliable, and very user-friendly. Read more

Bought this twice, 5 years apart. Loved it. First used it for my kids as a time-out, brush teeth, 15 min til playtime is over, etc. Then, when they outgrew it, I took it to school for teaching. It's magnetic so it fit perfectly on my board put of the way but in easy eyeshot. It's big and easy to see. The one downside is the alarm sound is rather unpleasant. Read more

This served it's purpose, which was helping my kids understand how to wait for a set amount of time (under an hour) for something. The visual helped them understand progression. It didn't stand up very well to my younger child spinning the dial over and over. The green film eventually caught on the rest of the clock face and now it won't operate. Recently had to throw it away. Not much is truly child proof and that's understandable. Read more

I use the Secura 7.5 Inch Visual Timer in my classroom, and it has been a fantastic tool for both my students and me. The large, clear display makes it easy for kids to see how much time they have left, which helps them stay focused and manage their work better. I love that it doesn’t rely on batteries and is very durable—perfect for everyday classroom use. The dark green color is also a nice touch, giving it a calm and professional look. Overall, it’s simple, reliable, and effective for teaching time management. Highly recommend for teachers and parents alike! Read more

I ordered one green and one blue. I have used both for up to 5 minutes at a time. The timing is accurate enough for my purposes. Both do go 10-20 seconds beyond the actual time set when compared to a stop watch, but it is not easy to be exact when setting the timer so this time difference may be due to that. They make a ticking sound while operating, but it is not incredibly loud and has not been distracting for my purposes (I work with adults). They are relatively small, so are easy to pack up and take with me for off-site use. I really like that they do not require batteries so I don’t have that added expense or worry. The colored disks are bright enough that you can easily gauge your time visually even from a distance. For me, the biggest issue has to do with operation of the bell. The blue timer will "ding" several times between minutes 4 and 3 and the green one between minutes 3 and 2. This random "dinging" is problematic, as it distracts people from their work because they erroneously think their time is up. The second problem is the fact that neither timer makes a noise when the entire time has elapsed - the ticking just stops. Because the ticking is relatively quiet, I can’t hear it unless I am pretty close by. Therefore, I have to repeatedly look at the timer to know when time is up, which takes my attention away from the work I am doing while the timer is running. If I turn the knob to 0 manually, the timer sounds, but it does not sound at all when operating on its own. If this issue were to be corrected, these visual timers would be perfect for my purposes. Very sturdy magnet, the ticking is quiet enough not to be annoying but loud enough that my students know when it runs out. Read more

We've had this for more than one year. The timer ticks as it count down which can be distracting and anxiety provoking for some kids. Also annoying. We no longer use it with our son. He specifically has asked for a quiet visual timer that only sound out at the end of the county down. Also my son knocked it over the table a few times and there is something loose inside and it randomly rings after the timer finished county down. Read more
