When I moved in there were 2 lights that were what decorators call "boob" lights, which I detest. One in the laundry room and one in the pantry. When I saw this product, I thought right away that it was beautiful and would look so much better than the old light. I guess I should have looked much closer at the images because I was expecting it to be a solid globe front as every other light I've ever seen like this. It certainly looked like that to me. Instead it's more like a doughnut shape with an opening at the front of the glass shade to change the light bulb, I guess? Don't get me wrong, the glass design and pattern are beautiful but I don't know how it's going to look hanging up and what kind of light/shadows it's going to cast. I don't know if I want to go to the expense of hiring an electrician to install it only to hate it as much as the old one. It seems really well made. The glass is very solid and the decoration bit is lovely. It doesn't seem cheaply made at all. I will update if I do have it installed as to whether it functions as it should. I also bought on the same day a slightly different light for the other room that turned out to have the same weirdness about the shade. Now I have 2 lights that I'm not sure if I can use or not. Both very lovely just maybe not for me. I wish the images had clearly shown this opening. I see it mentioning it in the description but I guess I was too dazzled by the beauty of the glass to notice. lol. (leaving the same review for both) Read more
