She set the whole thing up by herself (yes, really!) and proudly named it her “Bird Buffet.” Here’s why I gave such a high score to this smart bird feeder: 1. So easy to set up. She read the instructions and had it assembled and strapped to the tree without even asking me for help. 2. Keeps her entertained (and learning). The little AI tells her what kind of bird is visiting, and she loves watching the videos of them enjoying their “buffet.” If you’ve got the patience, you can watch the birds live, but even if you don’t, it saves all the cutest moments for later. 3. No battery stress + super sturdy. It’s solar-powered, which I love — no running around looking for batteries. And it feels really solid and well-made. It is the perfect summer gift. She’s been out there for the last three days after it was set up, totally in her own little world, and hasn’t bugged me once. The wooden roof gives it a warm, natural look that blends beautifully with the surrounding environment, and the build quality feels solid and durable. The built-in solar panel is a fantastic feature — it keeps the camera powered without needing any external charging or wires. The camera itself is high quality, and the motion detection is very responsive. I’ve already captured several great videos of birds stopping by, and even a few surprise visits from squirrels! Honestly, I’m obsessed with the bird feeder. It looks awesome on my tree, and that little toucan statue next to it just makes it extra cool. People walking by keep telling me how cool it looks - definitely a conversation starter! The best part? It’s got this smart camera that tells me what kind of birds are stopping by. I get updates on my cellphone, and it’s actually fun seeing birds show up each day. Setup was super easy and I don’t have to worry about batteries because it’s solar powered. This bird feeder is amazing! I’m so happy with this solar-powered wooden feeder with a camera. The wood feels really sturdy and looks beautiful in my front yard and really easy to install with the elastic bands which comes with the kit. The solar panel is super convenient, because I don’t like using a bunch of batteries. And the camera is such a cool feature! The video is clear. It’s become my new favorite part of the day. I absolutely love the real wooden house design of this bird feeder with its natural wood grain, shingles, and chimney. The roof magnetizes on, which makes me wonder what max wind speeds it can withstand. The back side is semi-open to the camera, as you can see in my photo. This makes me wonder if you were to put it out in the open on a pole, then sideways rain could hit the back side. Then I think the water would get into the camera housing. It definitely doesn't look as water tight as other models I've reviewed. It is easy to assemble and includes all the different mounting options to drill it into a wall with a mounting template and screws, wrap around a tree or fence post, or mount on top a stick. The solar panel needs to be screwed into something. It is great to have the solar panel separate, so you could have the bird feeder in the shade while the solar panel is out in the sun. I like that it has a drainage holes to keep the seed dry. It is cute it has an optional wood disc you could design to put a name on your bird feeder and cover the company logo. It is missing these features that are common in other bird feeder cameras I've reviewed: hummingbird food holder, fruit holder, and bird bath/ water cup. Read more
