This is an awesome little set of desk accessories! My desk is a popular hangout spot for our cats, and they do quite LOVE to find anything they can exploit and make a game out of. Extra points if they can lose important items and watch Mommy try in vain to locate them later. This kit is HEFTY. I definitely have some plastic/resin type pen holders and whatnot on my desk as well, but this kit is on a whole different level. Because the actual cups and little trays and whatnot are heavy, I don't have to worry about the cats being able to push them over and spill them. The sort of semi-matte black color looks really nice on my desk as well, and the perpendicular stripes add some subtle visual interest. I didn't have really any use for the business card holder, as I work from home... BUT I found that it's also the PERFECT size to stash my migraine stick in! It's kind of amusing to me to see it holding that place of honor on my desk, but it's also fitting. This desk set is a nice, minimalist set that is well-made and durable. The listing says it's made of concrete, which makes is a very solid heavy set with a smooth enameled finish. The pad holder fits 3x3 sticky note pads perfectly, and the the pencil cup is big enough to hold quite a bit - I have 13 pens, pencils and sharpies in mine along with a pair of scissors. All the items have a soft pad on the bottom to prevent scratching and marring of a desk surface. This desk set is really good quality! I needed something for my desk to hold various items and this is just perfect! The set is not light weight or cheap feeling at all. The bottom of each piece has a soft velvet like material to keep it in place. I love the post it note holder and the little dish for paperclips the best.
