Sizing is way off

I wanted to love this vest! I loved the way it looked and the softness of the material, and the lapel was super cute.... But the sizing is WAY off! I bought my true size and the vest buttons were easily 4 inches apart. This would fit a teenager, not an adult. I'm going to give it to my granddaughter, maybe she can use it four her theater plays.
