You might need something to hold them up, as any very long warn sock, they sag a bit, I even noticed it in them as leg warmers, but I didnt mind because leg warmers are supposed to sag a little. Unfortunately, they are so long that trying to make them thigh high was really difficult, I had to bunch them up and especially because they don't stretch well at the top. So I won't be able to actually wear them as thigh socks. Noted that I'm 5'5" and 125lbs so I don't think it's because my thighs are too big. I did end up wearing them like you would leg warmers over tights with boots and it looked really cute. So they aren't really functional for what I had hoped for and they aren't easy to get on.
