Ever since Shea Moisture sold out into the corporate world, it has gone to pot, so I've been searching for a good shampoo, among other things. While this might not be the most amazing shampoo I've ever used I have no complaints. The scent is pleasant and light and doesn't really linger strongly in your hair--hair just smells clean. It gives a mild shine and adequate softness to hair, both curly and straight types. The ingredients are largely safe and that's important to me, so this is something I think I'll stick with. This gentle shampoo cleans well without drying out my hair and scalp. When I was younger, It worked well on my oilier hair and scalp. Now that I'm silver, my hair is drier, and this product works just as well. I have sensitive skin and this shampoo never causes any problem. And it's cruelty free! Read more

Came across this product at a festival on land that uses a fairly closed water system, with the waste water getting composted, so the landkeepers only allow guests to use their biodegradable products in the showers and sinks. I was so pleased with it I decided to start buying it at home. I am mixed Afro-Caribbean and European, and have sproingy curls that need lots of moisture but a scalp that gets confused by all that moisture and ends up gunky or flaky if not cleaned thoroughly enough or if cleaned TOO thoroughly, so finding hair products of all types has always been a struggle. This one leaves my head (and my son's head) nice and clean without stripping the moisture and oils from my hair, which is great. My curls stay bouncy and healthy, but my scalp doesn't get yucky. I have a sensitivity to fragrances (my eyes will stream, nose clog, and skin rash up), but I thankfully don't get any reaction from this. It smells "natural." Great value for the money!
