Bone conducting headphones with bass?! Hell yea!

ChristineDecember 20, 2025

These headphones are the real deal. They are comfortable, easy to use, and the sound quality is amazing. I usually only use over ear headphones because I need to feel the bass to really enjoy my music. I decided to try these so I could still hear my surroundings at work, and I am honestly pleasantly surprised. The sound quality is far better than I expected. I used the app to switch to bass boost, but there are several EQ options depending on what sound you prefer, which is awesome. I have tried bone conduction headphones before and while the concept was cool, I could never get past the poor sound quality. These completely changed that for me. I have taken a few calls using these and from what I can tell, people hear me crystal clear. I also have no trouble hearing them on my end, even in a work setting. I got the mini version and it fits perfectly around my head with no extra space. They are comfortable enough to wear all day without any issues. The only downside is that they are not comfortable to lay down with. The pressure pushes the headset and makes it uncomfortable around the ears, which is a bit of a shame. Battery life seems pretty solid. I turn the music on and off throughout the day, so it is not playing constantly, but by the end of my shift the battery usually sits around medium, which looked to be about 70 percent when I checked. As far as value for money goes, I cannot say whether they are worth full price for everyone. What I can say is that these are top quality, so you can decide what that is worth to you. I picked these up on sale for about 115 dollars and for me, that was absolutely worth it. Overall, I am very happy with these and it is awesome that I can finally enjoy this style of headphones without sacrificing sound quality. Read more

I can’t believe I haven’t already left a review! Love them!

Charlie VJuly 20, 2025

You alone will know why an open ear headset might be something you’d want. So let me just focus on the function of these. Battery life is epic. I mean all day. I use them all day a lot of the time. Comfort is excellent. As I said, sometimes I wear them all day. I barely know they are there. In fact, sometimes I forget they are there. sizing is something we need to talk about. I am 6 feet tall and have a normal sized head I suppose and the mini ones fit me perfectly. I also have short hair so keep that in mind. The reason this is important is because the standard ones might give me a little more freedom without getting tight. I really don’t care about that because the minis allow me to sit in a chair without being uncomfortable when I put my head against the pillow. They can also be used in bed. In fact, sometimes I sleep all night long with these on, and they are still there when I wake up. If you can wear the mini and have a little bit of distance between your neck and head and you don’t have to look up a lot, get the mini! Otherwise get the standard ones and be aware that you probably won’t be able to put the back of your head against anything without removing them. Yes, you can pull them down and put them around your neck and they will stay there until you are ready to put them back over your ears. The sound is excellent. Especially once you download the app and boost the base a little. That is the essential feature of these with the extra speakers. However, they work just fine without the extra speakers as long as you were fine with a little treble. Since I normally listen. to podcasts, it doesn’t matter to me. I am just listening to some person‘s voice most of the time. However, if you use them in the classic mode, which means you are just getting the bone conduction, be aware that when you turn it up to a higher volume, you may feel some buzzing on your temples. I suppose I could look up the IP rating for these. I don’t know what it is. But I’ve worn them in the rain and not had any difficulties. USB-C charging is clutch! And I saved the best for last. The microphone call quality and noise, cancellation or voice isolation is really top notch. I mean, handset quality. I really prefer using these for telephone calls over AirPod earphones. These things blocked out a crowing rooster! I mean, wow! i’ve been using them for a few months and they seem to be pretty durable. No problems. The case that they come in is very nice and they charge quickly. I really don’t have a downside for these except maybe it would be nice to have the microphone extension Like the other model. But then again, the voice quality on these is so good. I don’t think I need it and that would just be something else in the way. I got these on sale. I don’t know what they cost right now. But if it is within your budget and you are considering them, just hit the buy button because they were great. Read more

A Game-Changer for Active Listeners

Jason ParentOctober 30, 2025

I've been a fan of bone conduction headphones for years, especially for running and cycling where I need to stay aware of my surroundings. After using the original OpenRun Pro for a while, I decided to upgrade to the OpenRun Pro 2, and wow, SHOKZ has really stepped up their game. I bought these directly from Amazon, and they arrived super fast in perfect condition. First off, the sound quality is noticeably improved. The bass is deeper and more vibrant than previous models—thanks to their DualPitch technology, I think—which makes listening to podcasts, audiobooks, or upbeat playlists during my morning jogs way more enjoyable. It's not going to rival over-ear headphones for audiophiles, but for bone conduction, it's top-tier. The highs are clear, and there's minimal sound leakage even at higher volumes. Comfort is another huge win. These are lightweight (under 30g), and the flexible titanium frame sits securely without pinching or slipping, even during sweaty workouts. I've worn them for 2-3 hour runs with no discomfort. The open-ear design means my ears stay cool and dry, and I can hear traffic, birds, or my running buddy without issue. Battery life is insane—up to 12 hours on a single charge, and a quick 5-minute charge gives you an hour of playtime. Plus, they're IP55 rated, so rain or sweat isn't a problem. Pairing was seamless with my iPhone via Bluetooth 5.3, and the app lets you tweak EQ settings, which is a nice touch. Controls are intuitive with multifunction buttons for volume, calls, and skipping tracks. If I had to nitpick, the price is a bit premium at around $180, but it's worth it for the quality. Also, if you're in a super noisy environment like a busy gym, you might need to crank the volume, but that's bone conduction for ya! Overall, these are the best bone conduction headphones I've tried. If you're active outdoors and want safety without sacrificing audio, grab the SHOKZ OpenRun Pro 2. Highly recommend—I'll be using these for years! Read more
