I have EDS along with multiple arthritic diseases and as a retired bike racer I have put my body through the paces with a multitude of injuries. Any time I would go down (wreck) in an accident I would always favor my left and protect my right side. Well, that has caught up with me and after many injuries over 36 year of racing, my left shoulder is in bad shape. I am not a candidate for artificial joints so I have to deal with what is left! With EDS my joints are no longer stable and with the past injuries and repairs my joints have a tendency to pop out, tear and swell, it’s just not good. My left should is wore out and I have sustained another injury, again. Now, with all of that said, this is a fine brace but for some reason, it’s ill fitting on me and the plastic strap tension piece is uncomfortable to the point that after 20 minutes, I can no longer wear it due to discomfort caused by. I measured, then I measured again , then I ordered. I know how to set up a multitude of body support braces and even sold them in my bike store prior to retirement. I wanted to state that so one had ann understanding that my discomfort is not due to user error! Again, it fits, it’s just uncomfortable and digs in. My other braces in the past never caused this discomfort. One of my sponsors was EVS, their products, a bit more expensive, work great but those braces are wore out and I needed something quick and was hoping to get something that would assist me. Unfortunately this brace did not fill the void. It’s made very well and I do believe it’s a quality product, again, it’s just not a good fit for me. It’s easy to setup and it does offer support. The velcro is strong and the neoprene is of good quality. I dislike having to write a review like this as it deserves 5 stars but if it causes a problem then deduction must be applied! After all, that is why it’s a review and that’s what it’s here for. The grading of 4 stars seems like a fair grade, minus 1 star for ill fit causing irritation. Again, this is a good product that does offer support and it is good quality. For me personally, fitment issues. I hope all who need this type of brace heel quickly and I hope your pain is minimal. Update: I received the exchange brace the very next day! It has no flaws and works perfectly. The relief from the pain is exactly why I requested an exchange. The design and materials used to construct this product is spot on. Original post: I received this today and will be returning for an exchange. The support band is unraveling as you can see in the pictures. I hope to receive the exchange in a timely manner. Looks like good quality material, disappointing first impression. I have chronic shoulder issues and have tried several braces. I chose this one because it looked like it would offer stability for my unstable shoulder. It has a tendency to slip around a bit, even when I have it tightened pretty snugly. It does provide a little help, but not nearly as much as I thought it would. Read more
