I bought these for snow shoveling and they have been quickly put to us. They look decent (mine are all brown though the Amazon ad showed several colors) and are fairly easy to put on and take off due to the side zipper. The zippers are metal and seems sturdy though I would ave preferred a little larger pull tab for grasping. They definitely keep water out and the lining provides some insulation (I've been wearing them in mid 20 degree temperatures. The fit is exactly what I would expect ( wear either 9.5 or 10 so ordered 10 and they have a little extra room for heavier socks. The soles seem a little stiff but that may just be because they are new. I haven't encountered any traction issues though have not tried walking an straight ice. These boots are great for Michigan tween winter exploring! My kid is 12 & won’t wear them to school, but they are great for winter outdoor play. The zipper is sturdy & makes it easy to get on/off. The calf is warm & material is thick. The upper is waterproof, although the calf/shaft is not. These are definitely worth it if your kid like to be outside in 1-2ft of snow in 0-20 F weather.
