This is a fun kit that my daughter and I built together. It is pretty complicated with all the tiny pieces but we got to spend some quality time building it and she loves it. The educational value comes from learning how robots work, how solar power works and how to assemble it while following the directions. However, the instructions can be confusing, even for adults. Some parts are really small and difficult to snap together, so it takes a lot of patience and focus. Not ideal for younger kids working alone. The solar panel only works in strong, direct sunlight — indoor lighting or cloudy days don’t give it enough power to move, which was disappointing.
