It's not the fanciest, but it does its job. I've been using this stand virtually every day since I bought it without really thinking about it, so I would say it's a good purchase and fair value. It folds very nicely into a thin size to store or carry and there are an ample number of angles so that you can adjust to your personal preference. The height of the stop-bar may be a concern for those with thinner laptops, but I have not found it to be an issue with mine. This stand can easily be used with tablets as well, although I personally found it a bit awkward at some viewing angles with my 11-inch iPad due to the stop-bar's height. The laptop in the photos attached is a Dell Latitude 5420, which fits comfortably atop the stand. It doesn't "cool" the laptop, which tends to run hot, but prevents it from overheating, which is good enough for my usage. HOWEVER, A WARNING: this stand IS metal, and it can and WILL scratch the back of your device especially if you are not careful. Overall this product suits my needs and I am satisfied with it. This is small but mighty Laptop stand. It lifts the laptop just enough so it doesn't hurt my neck to look at the screen. Very sturdy! I'm not at all afraid the computer falling off the stand. It's also adjustable! Read more

Does the job and exactly like the picture. Holds my 8 lbs gaming laptop well, very stable. For a laptop with a 17” screen it only overlaps about 1/2” on either side. Doesn’t bother me. Read more

+Significantly improved laptop thermals +Compact design +Improved comfort My gaming laptop gets extremely hot during use, even when used normally on a desk top. This laptop stand solved these issues, and I'm even able to comfortably game with my laptop on my lap now. The mesh construction allows for great ventilation. Even when fully folded it no longer throttles. My lap no longer gets uncomfortably hot while using my laptop. This laptop stand is sturdy, yet light enough to easily carry around in my bag. It folds up enough that there is plenty of room for my laptop and accessories. The tilt feature improves screen ergonomics and is super easy to adjust. Overall this is a great value and if recommend it to anyone looking to improve their laptop thermals and comfort. Read more

I am someone who uses their laptop almost 100% of the time on their literal lap, so the majority of the laptop coolers**/stands out there weren't going to work (since they didn't have flat bottoms). The design of this is exactly what I was looking for, something to support the laptop, and also create some breathing room underneath. I was afraid something made entirely of metal was going to be too heavy, but it was actually lighter than hardcover book & old broken laptop cooler I cobbled together before getting this. The mesh & edges sometimes leave press-marks on my (exposed) thighs after long period, but not anything that actually hurts (I just want to be honest about a "side effect").The little flap in the front to prevent sliding is perfectly flush with my specific laptop, so that hasn't been an issue with me (& personally I'd be comfortable using a tool to cut part of it away, if it wasn't). I should say that sometimes (though not often) the bar pops out of the last (lowest sitting) rung, and it collapses down - but I'm pretty sure it's just when I'm sitting with my legs in a crooked fashion (this thing is so nice, I feel like I can sit any which way), as it's never happened when it's sitting on a table/desk. I wouldn't lower the rating because of this. **On the note of coolers (with fans built in, etc), for anyone who comes across this researching their own way to cool their laptop -- forget them. If your laptop is like mine (draw in from the bottom, vent out the back), most of them wouldn't work anyway (most push air away from the bottom of the laptop). But even if that wasn't an issue, any test I could find showed they didn't decrease the temperature of the CPU or GPU. The best you can do is just provide good ventilation space, and make changes on the computer's end (Throttle Stop is a great, free, program to undervolt the CPU which can drastically reduce overheating). This is affordable and does the former thing very well. Read more
