simplehuman Fold Away Squeegee Stainless Steel

My husband and I just moved into a newly built home last month, and we have wound up purchasing several Simplehuman products (see also my reviews for simplehuman Steel Frame Dishrack with Wine Glass Holder and simplehuman Rectangular Step Trash Can ). When I realized that my new glass shower door was becoming streaked with water spots, I again turned to Simplehuman. I was attracted to this particular squeegee for two reasons (other than the Simplehuman name brand). One, the stainless zinc finish matches the brushed nickel finises of our other bathroom hardware, including our shower door itself. Two, I loved the fact that this squeegee folded, enabling it to be inconspicuously tucked out of the way in a corner of the shower; most of the other squeegees I considered (including the one by Oxo, another brand I usually like), were large and bulky. Although I also liked that this squeegee came with a suction cup for hanging, I suspected that I might not be able to use it, and I was right about that. The suction cup does work--IF you stick it to a PERFECTLY FLAT surface. Unfortunately, no tile surface is perfectly flat, and although the suction cup DID appear to stick at first, it slowly lost its grip. For me, this is not at issue, as it is just as easy to fold the squeegee in half and leave it on the built-in bench of our shower. In this sense, the squeegee is perfect: when open, it has an excellent span and does a very good job of clearing my glass shower door of water, soap scum, and other debris. When closed, it is not at all unattractive, and even better, it is barely noticeable. As long as you are not counting on the suction cup, I would definitely recommend this squeegee for shower use. Just ordered and received this squeegee. I like the finish, performance, and that it folds. It's very effective at removing the excess water from my shower door without leaving any streaks. Good value, and feels like it will outlast it's 5-year warranty. Read more

I'm ordering our 3rd one today. Our current one last one lasted almost 6 years before the adjustable handle started not consistently locking into place. This squeege works well on our master shower glass and tile. I don't remember when the suction cup quit working, but I'm very pleased with the simple human squeege quality. Read more

I don't know what I'm going to do if this squeege isn't going to be produced anymore. The biggest reason is it folds, 80% perfect size, fits the outside pocket of my supply bag, streak free windows, mirrors, fast on shower tiles, shower glass, bath tubs. If you found it in stores it was so hidden in between other items that you'd pass it right up, and have to ask where it is. It's listed on the store's website, says store has the item. This is what happened to me when I found it wasn't available on Amazon. I started the search and lo and behold it wasn't available in the majority of stores or online. When I did find it, I bought it/them, $30 a pop, I found 4, which is better than none:) I'm a professional cleaner. It never fails when you find something that really works either the gov't or company says, "You can no longer have it or we're not producing it anymore." :( Read more

The folding option for this squeegee doesn't appear terribly necessary until it arrives and you realize it's much larger than anticipated. Don't be mislead, it's still manageable, and far smaller than the kind of squeegee you'll find at a gas station pump, but it's still substantial in size. Its foldability makes it both an attractive adornment and useful maintenance tool. To achieve a spotless shower I use Bar Keeper's friend paste to remove soap scum effortlessly, then I maintain cleanliness using this squeegee after every shower. A singular negative criticism: Because of its size/weight the squeegee randomly falls from the included suction cup hook. That has been the case with almost any suctioned appliance I've ever purchased, so it's not distinct to this product. Overall: as a squeegee it works perfectly on my shower doors. Read more

This is absolutely the best squeegee I have used on our shower glass. It does take a bit of practice to use effectively but the results as excellent. Having bought a cheaper item that had issues with leaving residue and causing cloudiness I decided to pay more for this product and so glad I did. The squeegee really sticks to the glass when pulling along to clear off water etc. and leaves nothing but a crystal clear glass after using it. Couldn’t have asked for a better product. Watch out for the cheap/inexpensive squeegees and give this a go, you will be happy you did. Read more
