I've had this for a while now. I just realized I've never done a review for it. I feel like I need to do a review for it because this is one of the best kitchen tools I have ever purchased. It is amazing. I exclusively use it for instant rice. I know you can use it for other things, but I was looking for something I could easily make instant rice in because the awesome container I had been using for years cracked and was spilling water all over the microwave. I kept trying other options, but the same thing happened: water all over the place, rice all over the place. It was such a hassle cleaning up. I am disabled and need fast cooking options, so instant rice is always a go-to. I was desperately searching for something that would work. I found this and decided to try it. It's wonderful. It has this spill protection so no water all over the place. It keeps the rice hot for a bit, so I can put that in the microwave first and then microwave other things after without it losing much heat. Remember when I told you I've had it for years? I use it constantly, and it looks brand new. It is worth every penny. Two thumbs way up. Would buy again, but I probably won't because I doubt this will ever break. That's how solid it is. Read more

I am one of those people who rarely writes reviews, but had to to take the time to do so for this item. Over the course of the last month I made rice, and managed to not get the temp right and it boiled over on the stovetop. Then I did the same about a week later with a pot of quinoa and that was a ugly mess to clean! I order this item and when it arrived I unpacked it, read the instructions, cleaned it and put it away. This week I pulled it out, added one cup of quinoa and two cups of water per the instructions. Put the lids on per the instructions, microwaved for 6 minutes -- just because I wanted to check it -- gave it a stir, put the lids back in place and microwaved for another 6 minutes. AND IT WAS PERFECTLY COOKED. No excess water, no boil over, just fluffy, perfect quinoa! Read more

Had one of these before and it worked really well in microwave—the type of lid it uses prevents water from spilling over in microwave like using a different container does. Makes enough for us 2 or for larger group of 5 or 6. We don’t eat rice at every meal though like some people might. Easy to clean.
