This is obviously something that you hope you never need, so I haven’t tried it on poisonous plant rashes. I have used it on other irritated skin and it does seem effective on irritation and itching. I don’t know about how it does on burns. The value seems ok. The thing I don’t like about it is that it separates a little, so you either get really thick or really runny. This is a very thick cream or paste that works well on mosquito bites and minor burns. I originally bought it for bug bites, but the other night I burned my finger on the oven. After an hour of keeping it iced and in a cup of cold water, it still felt like it was on fire whenever I took it out of the water. Out of desperation, I dug through my drawers and found this cream, which said it was healing for skin. I put a generous amount on my finger, and within five minutes the pain was gone. After fifteen minutes, I wiped it off. The blister that had started to form went away, and I never felt pain in that spot again. I do not know what all of the ingredients are, and I would not use it on my skin all the time, but it works really well when needed. Read more

I was having a skin rash when I ordered this product, but while I was waiting for it to arrive I resolved the rash with a good moisturizer. Once this tube arrived and I noticed the short time to its expiration date (only 9 months from the date I received it), the separation of the ingredients, which I read is common as aluminum hydroxide gels age, and the off-odor that I smelled when I put it on my hand made me lose confidence in it. I was not happy with some of the ingredients in the ingredient list, either. I’m glad the moisturizer had already fixed my rash as I would not have been comfortable using it. Read more

UPDATE: I've been able to try out this ointment on mosquito bites and random itchy patches of skin in the last few weeks and I can say with confidence that it definitely relieves itching! My friend tried it too and it helped her stop itching as well. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I received this product right before I went on an annual camping trip so I for sure thought I would have a chance to try it out, as I always end up with at least 2-3 mosquito bites. Fortunately for me, but unfortunately for this review, there wasn't a single mosquito this year! So I haven't gotten to see how effective it is yet, but I did try some out on my hand just to see if it had an odor or felt weird, but neither was an issue. I will come back to update this review once I can attest to this product's effectiveness, but in the meantime, I'm happy to add this ointment to my camping gear. Read more

Did not have any poison ivy or oak or any other irritating plant residue to test it out on when it arrived but I did have my little granddaughter who had some bug bites that she had been scratching all day to the point her skin was nearly raw. Thankfully this arrived right before she left for the day. I applied it to her bites. The fingers I used to apply it felt like they had a nice moisturizing protective layer on them. I sent the container home with my daughter and she said it helped calm the itching. She applied it again at bedtime and the next morning she felt the bites were looking better (probably cause my granddaughter wasn't scratching the heck out of them) and the itching still seemed under control. She applied it again to keep it under control for the day but we are very pleased with this product as the bugs seem to love my granddaughter and we are always in need of a good cream for that girl.
