So the first question I have is this: Is this a foundation? Or a primer? There's a very very very sheer tint to it, and it's listed here as a foundation. But the packaging only calls it a primer. Maybe just translation issues? I dunno. But it doesn't work very well as either sadly. I'm a very pale caucasian woman with patches of red and HUGE pores. This stuff somehow makes me look paler (it's got a very white cast to it) but doesn't correct the red at all, so I just look sort of deathly with it on. It's also doesn't obscure the pores, just sort of sits in them and accentuates them in a way that when you look at my face all you see are PALE PORES FULL OF STUFF. Gross. The upside is that it does feel very moisturizing. Heh. But looks terrible. I did find a pretty decent use for it as a first layer for some costume makeup for halloween -- I felt better about having this between my face and the white face paint I used pretty thickly for a costume, and it left my skin feeling great later. But just for halloween it's not really a good value. Not sure who this is going to work for, I guess if you don't really have pores and you want a sort of ghostly ghastly appearance it could work. This SKINAWAKE Hydrating boost foundation Primer is not a good match for my skin tone. It makes me look a bit too pale and it leaves a white cast on my skin. I was hoping that it was like a tinted moisturizer and primer in one. My skin is just took dark to wear it. It would be better for fair or very fair skin tones. Read more

This product doesn't blend into the skin WHATSOEVER. I could rub, and rub, and rub, and rub for fifteen minutes and this product still wouldn't be blended in. It just balls up on the skin and is a complete and utter MESS. Read more

Review: SKINAWAKE Hydrating boost foundation Primer With Hyaluronic Acid I had to read the product listing several times and I think what they want to convey is that this is a primer for foundation (they write it as foundation primer). So that being said this is not a foundation but rather a primer. the issue is that this contains titanium dioxide so it absolutely leaves a white cast on the skin. I don't think I was expecting that and I did not like that it did not blend. I like my makeup routine to be quick and to be spending such a long time to keep spreading the product is just not my cup of tea. Read more

I see a couple of other reviews here that sound like a totally different product and that leads me to believe these folks got something from a bad batch. I take hot showers and that tends to leave my skin dry. I also don't have the greatest care routines so. it's often dry and kind of patchy red. This creme seems to solve two problems at once in that it moisturizes while also blending in with my natural skin color and covering some of that redness. The packaging is nice and it fees through a pump that spits out just the right amount for a single area. Other people mentioned that it came out as liquid and as a thick stuff - sounds like it separated or wasn't properly mixed. Mine came out as a smooth cream and applied without any trouble. I think the product is good and I'm happy with what I got so I'm giving it five stars but they might have an issue with quality control if not everyone is getting what I got. Read more

when i first spread this on my skin, it's a mix of a thin liquid and light paste consistency, making patches of it tug on my skin. it's almost white in color and i have to really rub it in to blend it and make it non-patchy. once it's actually on my skin, it didn't really cover anything up. just everything is in a whiter color, and lightly pink from the rubbing required to blend it in. it has a very old-timey cosmetics fragrance, not in a good way. now that i've had it on for about 5 hours, here are my notes: - basically non-existant color correction. i have medium toned asian skin and i don't think my skin looked any better after putting this on, actually slightly worse initially - once rubbed in, it seems to actually kind of keep moisture in. my skin feels soft right now after 5 hours with this being my last step this morning. my skin feels netiher too dry nor too oily. and feels kind of nice. the application process and textural experience was so off-putting, that i probably won't use this again Read more

I was hopeful, but there’s a few things I didn’t like. The bottle is pretty big, but there’s not very much product inside. It took me a really long time to get anything to come out of the pump. Also, once I tried to apply it to my skin, it was nearly impossible to spread for coverage. Once I was able to spread it out, it wasn’t very pigmented and didn’t cover my dark spots. I really like the vitamins it has in the formula, but it’s just a poorly made product. Read more
