I'm giving 4 stars because customer service has been good replacing the missing screw. And my kid loves this thing. She can easily crank it up and down to different kid heights. But the functionality of this thing is not great. It's my fault, but I didn't understand that if you want to switch between adult heights and kids heights you have to disassemble the entire thing. And per the instructions you need a long flat board to do so because you have to whack the pole pieces apart which I question even works because when I put it together they were extremely tight. So tight that when we failed to line up the holes perfectly we had to stick a screwdriver in and hit it hard multiple times on its side with hammer to move the poles into position so holes lined up. The screwdriver was ruined. A screw was also missing but luckily we didn't need it right away because my kid is still small and we assembled to kid height. Customer service was responsive and said they would send replacement right away. The backboard also came scratched in one corner but no way I was gonna pack this thing back up and return. Assembling this thing was no walk in the park. I don't know how one person can manage it but took my husband and I almost 2hrs with breaks. The instructions are okay, but wish they gave some guidance on how far to tighten screws and when to tighten. Given we were tightening on plastic it was unclear. Wish they also have guidance on how much antifreeze to use to winterize base if u use water. Read more

This was super easy to assemble. I did it all by myself. Took me an hour or so. All you have to do is follow the instructions. Pay attention. Anyone that thinks this is hard to put together clearly didn't read or look at the instructions. And probably rushed it. Take your time and do it right. This is a great basketball hoop. Solid little backboard and hoop for the price. We picked this up to replace a Spalding that had rusted out over the years. All components are solid and do the job for a kid's backyard toy except for the net. This needed to be replaced by something more heavy duty almost immediately due to the fact that the original quickly deformed and started to shoot the ball out of its side. That said, my kids are liking this new rig very well. I've got two teens who play with it. They love the ability to raise and lower the hoop height easily with a rotating mechanism. Our old hoop required two people and a prayer to keep you from hurting yourself. The backboard is smaller than our original, but this hasn't seemed to bother my boys. So far things are working just fine. I'd recommend this product for certain. Read more
