First of all, it arrived late. 2nd, the feet/legs that hold the tv up would not screw in all the way, so the tv was not stable on the desk. It's not possible to use it without the legs as there is a very delicate looking receptor at the base of the television that would most likely break under the weight of the tv. I had to prop it up with books. Next, it was exceptionally difficult to program. My sister went to an Ivy league university and studied electronics. She and I struggled for over an hour to get this thing up and running. The picture quality was beautiful. That's the only thing it had going for it. There was a big red sticker on the inside of the packaging that asked the consumer not to send it back if they had difficulties. Then they gave a toll-free number to call for help. When I called at 1pm EST, I got an answering machine that said they weren't there. The next morning, the tv wouldn't turn on at all! Unbelievable! As I sat in disgust, I noticed that the box had several shipping labels on it that had been partially scratched off. It all dawned on me that I had purchased an expensive piece of junk. To make matters worse, I saw a typo on the box. It said "SMATR TV"...not a smart tv. A smatr tv. Oh my goodness. I'm done. This thing is going straight back to where it came from. Read more

Overall, if you need a budget TV, this works. However, I would recommend throwing in a bit more money, and getting something better. I am writing this review from a non-tech guy perspective, just a normal person, using a TV for every day typical use. Set-up: Unboxing the TV was simple. It was well packaged and surrounded by lots of contoured styrofoam for support. There was little waste overall, so clean up was a breeze. After you plug it in, and turn it on, it will walk you through the process to connect it to your wifi, sync it to your google account, and scan for local channels. This whole process worked great. It will even pair with your phone and lift lots of the information from there, so you don’t actually have to put in your wifi password. The only problem I had with setup was that the first thing it does when turning it on is to scan for bluetooth connected items. I didn’t have any external items I wanted to add, so it just continually scanned, without timing out, until I exited from it. I thought this was an odd first step for a TV set-up. Picture Quality: You get what you pay for here. This is going in my guest room so I didn’t mind too much about the overall quality of the picture. If you are used to a 4K quality screen, you will definitely notice the 720p HD resolution, which is much lower, and a bit dated. It works for standard TV, but if you are watching movies or streaming, it’s not as sharp as today’s TVs. The colors seem nice and vivid for the price and the contrast looked good to me. When watching, I never thought anything looked off or bad about the overall picture quality. Just looks like a normal TV. Sound Quality: Again, I am not a tech guy. The sound quality of this seemed good to me. Just like every other TV I have owned. It can get pretty loud if you want it to. Remote: The remote was easy to use, but I felt it was sometimes slow to react. There were a few times I was searching for movies and the remote had a hard time keeping up with the speed I was using to navigate the keyboard on the screen. I just had to slow it down a little and then things were fine. It’s nice that there are buttons to quickly access specific apps. Apps: Overall, most of the apps I used worked without any problem, just like every other smart TV. However, a few apps seemed like they were not formatted correctly for the screen. Only parts of the app would display on the screen and other parts would be cut off. Specifically, I noticed this with Pandora. I don’t know if it’s an app problem or a problem with the TV. However, all the preinstalled apps worked fine. Read more
