Although I am not at all a hot sleeper, I do like to stick one foot out from under the covers at all times to feel a bit of coolness. For that reason, I have been excited for quite some time to try cooling sheets. Aside from that habit, I generally run cold (never hot). Since the past few months have been colder and I have been freezing both day and night, I was hesitant to give these sheets a try. Still, my curiosity got the better of me, so I opened the box to see what they were all about. As soon as I took the sheets out of the box and picked them up, I noticed they were cool to the touch, which surprised me. I immediately put them in the washing machine so I could use them that night. They are heavier than an average cotton or jersey sheet and very slick to the touch. They washed up beautifully. I will admit that making the bed was a bit of a challenge because the sheets and blankets slid around so much, but I eventually got everything into place. I was initially concerned about the fitted sheet being described as ‘deep pocket’, since our mattress sits directly on an adjustable platform frame. I worried it might be too large, but it fit perfectly. Unstretched, the fitted sheet measures about fourteen and a half inches at the corners. I also love that the pillowcases are generously sized to fit king pillows and include a quality zipper that keeps the pillows tucked inside. Zippered pillow cases or the types with buttons or tucks are my favorite types. As someone who typically prefers crisp cotton sheets, the slick feel of the fabric was very different for me, and I was not sure I was going to like the feel of the fabric. I was also worried about being cold all night. So, I was so surprised that not only was I not cold, but my body temperature felt more regulated than usual. When I moved my arm or leg to a new spot on the bed, I did notice a subtle cool sensation similar to sticking a foot out of the covers, which I enjoy, but I never felt cold. Overall, my body temperature stayed comfortable throughout the night, which was an unexpected and pleasant surprise. These sheets seem well suited for anyone who prefers a bit of cooling during sleep. If you share a bed with someone who runs hot while you do not, based on my experience so far, there does not seem to be much cause for concern. I was surprised to find that the sheets helped keep my temperature feeling balanced rather than cold. The only thing I am still adjusting to is the slickness of the fabric, especially when making the bed, and the way the top sheet and covers can slide around a bit at night. They can be tumble dried on low setting and come out of the dryer wrinkle-free and luxuriously silky and soft. These sheets dried very quickly even at low temps, saving energy (see photo). * The sheets felt so good in my hands as they came out of the dryer. At that moment I began looking forward to a wonderful night’s sleep every night! * High quality sheets are pricey at $99 in 11/25. However, a good night's sleep is well-worth the wise investment in comfort. * A sheet set makes an excellent gift on any occasion and provides cool and sleeping comfort for the fortunate recipients. * The set is listed as a 2025 Award Winner from Good Housekeeping. CONS: * According to the Sleep Zone website, the advertised “Lifetime Warranty” turns out to be “limited” with no specific time given: “Your new purchase comes with a manufacturer’s limited warranty. Any warranty claims must fall within the time frame and guidelines of the manufacturer’s warranty. You must have your sales receipt.” No time frame specified!! SUMMARY: This high-quality King sheet set is well worth the restful sleep it provides. The OEKO-TEX Certification states that safe chemicals are used in the manufacturing process. The set makes a wonderful gift for a special person, who just might be yourself! Enjoy! I’ve been very impressed with this SLEEP ZONE cooling sheet set after several nights of use. The fabric feels soft and smooth with a lightweight, breathable weave that doesn’t trap heat like traditional cotton or microfiber sheets. I tend to sleep warm, and these sheets noticeably help regulate temperature throughout the night without feeling slick or synthetic.
