I just got these today and put them on my old wooden chair that had been impossible to move on the carpet. And what a difference these make! It slides so easy now. The instructions were very easy to follow. Just drilled small pilot holes and then I popped the tops off, stuck the bottom piece onto the chair with the adhesive, screwed them in and popped the top back on. I had a little trouble with the first one, getting the top piece back on, because I hadn't gotten the screw quite tight enough. Once I figured that out, the rest way easy. Read more

We have solid oak floors and the typical stick on glides would catch on the joints or the dog would get ahold of the edge and pull it off. I bought these due to their ability to be installed with screws. These glides install fairly easily and slide like a dream. Make a drilling jig to center it on the leg and installation is easy. To facilitate installation, I made a drilling jig out of scrap piece of plywood I had. I drilled a shallow hole with a 1-1/16" Forstner bit. Obviously, each chair should be checked for leg diameter/size and the appropriate Forstner bit should be used. Once the leg recess is drilled, using the center point left by the Forstner bit, drill a 3/32" dia hole all the way through the plywood. To use, just place the drill jig over the leg, make sure that the leg bottom is in the recessed hole. Use one hand to hold the jig in place, and drill the hole for the screw. Read more

I have dark hardwood site finished floors and some heavy club chairs in my kitchen They are about 3 times heavier than standard kitchen chair. I purchased the CB250 Dark coloured plastic and have been using them since March 2011. I chucked the included stickers and installed the Slipstick by pre-drilling the holes and using the provided screws. Protection - Under sunlight I can see a faint dark mark from the plastic if I drag. I does not look like scratches, more like colouring from the Slipstick plastic. With my dark floors it is not normally visible. Sliding - When I tried sliding them, it really did not slide, more like dragged though this could be due to my heavy chairs. Cleaning - They are way easier to clean in comparison to felt. Warnings - One day I noticed a long visible scratch from one leg on a chair. On closer inspection I could not see anything though I felt a part of the offending Slipstick flat felt sharp. I assume it was either a piece of dirt or the plastic itself. A vigorous cleaning with a wet paper towel fixed it. I am disappointed with the marking of the floor, but still this is better than felt, which after a few months collects small particles and visibly scratches up the floor. I need some more floor protectors for my dining room which are more standard chairs. So once I get another set of the slipsticks in I will try to followup with another view. I may also purchase a pack of Magic Sliders to see if they are any better. Read more

These sliders have made moving chairs on an old linoleum floor much easier. My elderly mother needed something to make maneuvering her chair up to the table easier and these did the trick without causing any damage to the floor. We used the screws (versus stick on) to install them on wood chair legs, which is not difficult but does require an electric drill to do the installation. We used the included screws and had no trouble with them like some other reviewers have mentioned. It is important that you use the right size drill bit to make the hole which then allows easy insertion of the screws. Would definitely recommend. Read more

worked really well on my new Ashley chairs from Amazon! I screwed mine one, so one hint - stick them on with the preattached sticky tape, make a small pilot hole, or use a punch to make a good dent like I did, then hand screw the screws in. On that note - you will likely have to make some adjustments, because the tighter you screw them, the more "smooshed" the sticky tape will get, which can result in wobbly chairs, especially if the rear legs are curved at all like my chairs...which 4 completely straight chair legs, this might not be an issue...I just had to loosen a couple and balance mine out. Once on, push the caps on & you're done. Chairs slide across my hardwood floors great now without marking them up! Read more

I bought these to go on the new wooden counter stools we bought. You'd think you spend over a grand on some stools that they would come with these things on them to save your floor. Nope, you get the stool and thats it. Well we just spent 5 grand on a new wooden floor and i wasnt about to let it get scratch marks from the stools. These babys do the trick plain and simple. They dont skid and they dont leave marks. I used a drill bit and made a pilot hole first cause the stools are solid oak, but the screws counter sink and all have stayed on tight so far (3 moonths so far). They dont leave marks when you side the stool up to the counter, and you dont slide around on them at all, in fact they almost dont slide at all. My only complaint is they dont come in any more than 8 packs. I have 6 chairs and had to buy 3 packages, which is no big deal but would have been nice to buy like a 24 or 18 packs, but hey i guess that's only in beer you can get those. All in All a well made product that should last the life time of the chairs Read more

It is versatile in that it can be screwed or adhered to a chair leg, but the weakness is that the light colored sliding insert can pop out. The fit varies so some of them stay together well and some pop out rather easily so i had to stick some tape where the pieces mate so they would lock together more tightly. Some reviews mention these inserts popping out and i see that it is totally possible, especially if the chair or whatever you attach these to come off the ground or can "hop" off the ground while being repositioned. For really heavy stuff maybe it is not a big issue as the inserts will stay firmly planted, but for the hardness and small surface area of these sliders, they may not really be optimal for very heavy items of furniture as they could potentially leave marks or indentations if you have softer floors.
