This is definitely a small monitor, however that suits my purposes. I travel a lot via plane and my partner and I like to play games or watch videos together. The folio case is a nice protective feature that allows me to put the monitor in my purse without fear of scratching the screen. It works with a portable power bank so you don’t need to worry about finding an outlet. The colors match what I see on my switch or tv and the images are sharp and clear. When I travel alone, my switch screen is adequate, however when my partner and I are traveling together, a larger screen is desirable. This definitely fits the bill. It’s large enough for us to see what we are doing, but not too large to make it awkward to transport. Read more

The build quality is good, as I've brought it along on a few trips and the monitor has held up well. The cover, which also serves as the stand, works just fine as it sticks to the back of the monitor. The magnetism between the monitor and the cover isn't strong, but it's just enough to hold it up. The indentations on the cover, to keep it up at an angle, aren't deep but I haven't had an issue of it slipping down. As for the setup, it's straight forward as I just have to plug the HDMI cable and USB-C cable in and it's up and running. I did need both the cables plugged into the monitor to get it running as just plugging in the HDMI did not supply enough power. The external speakers work and they're decent for basic listening of videos, but of course it's nothing of cinematic quality. I was able to enjoy using this to extend the screen from my laptop or just have the laptop screen off and just use the external monitor as my primary display. The display is really good. It's colorful and bright enough for me to have in my room or to have out in public. The screen is pretty reflective though, especially if sunlight is shining directly onto the screen. As a result, I have to be mindful where I set this up and at what angle. Overall, it's small monitor works fine for me. I haven't had an issue with disconnections or the picture going blank. For the size of it, it works well. Read more

This portable monitor from Damrapt works right out of the box; I just connected the included HDMI cable between my laptop and the monitor (for video signal) and then connected the included USB cable between the monitor and the USB port on the laptop (for power). When I pressed the ON button, the monitor sprang to life providing a duplicate of the laptop screen (see photo). In fact, I think the Damrapt screen has better image quality and color than the laptop’s screen. The laptop is running Windows 10 and it immediately recognized this monitor as a second HDMI screen without any issue. I can of course toggle the laptop video card to Extend – rather than Duplicate – the display whenever I want. The monitor along with its attached magnetic cover/folding stand weighs only 0.9 lbs and is very thin, so it adds almost nothing to my laptop bag. In fact, my iPad is thicker and heavier than this monitor. Now I can nearly double my screen display space when I’m on the road. Read more

I'd like to give this five stars for a good unit, but I received a very egregiously dead-pixel-laden screen, and when I tried to register the warranty for it using the included warranty card, its email linked to a dead domain, so I couldn't even email support. So, right away, very bad impression - their quality control is clearly not good, and their competence as a company over all (not even owning their own domain, but shipping out warranty cards with a link using the dead domain regardless) is not a good look. A few days after I found a generic outlook.com email in the instruction manual, they responded, and a few days after that, a replacement showed up. This replacement seems fine, which is good! Still means any other buyer is rolling the dice with the same poor quality control and questionable support, but at least I did finally receive the product as promised. As for the product itself: well, what can I say. If you know what these are, you know exactly what you're getting. If you don't know: there's an OEM manufacturer making a specific windows tablet/laptop (think like a Surface) but either it's not selling well so they're dumping the hardware to recover losses, or they're having a huge number of panels that aren't up-to-spec, so they're binning them to other vendors to recover costs. Either way, the end result is a company (in this case, DAMRAPT) buying up the LCD panels in bulk, and then getting a generic LCD-to-HDMI adapter board and injection molding a simple case to hold it all together. There are plenty of other vendors on amazon (even on Vine!) selling this exact same 1920x1280 panel. They all have about the same sRGB gamut, about the same contrast ratios, pixel refresh speed, etc etc; the only real variances are in the case and connector board. A very serious downside of these products is that, since the LCD was meant to go behind a touchscreen panel, there's... no protection. It's just the raw, bare LCD, which can be incredibly fragile if it doesn't have a solid frame. (This is why Microsoft Surface tablets tend to be made with a lot of metal, but these are just soft plastic.) To Damrapt's credit, they've included a very handy magnetic folding iPad-style case/cover. I'm actually quite fond of it, and feel like other sellers should take note and include one, or something similar. So, in general, it's as advertised. Not a great contrast ratio, not a high-speed screen (maxes at 60Hz in all my testing). This really is just a 'handy' external screen for when you need 10 inches of pixels for something, but due to the unusual aspect ratio (3:2) it's going to confuse a lot of things you connect to it. For example, plugging my iPhone into it results in the image becoming stretched and blurry, which is disappointing because when set up correctly with a computer at the right resolution, the image is quite crisp, though the contrast ratio is somehow worse on these units than they are on other versions from other vendors, so it seems they're using a much cheaper driver board that doesn't do as nice of an image. All in all, my first review was obviously one star - no support email, product DOA, etc; did end up getting a nice product from them, that I think was worth 4 stars perhaps, but they're still including the wrong email warranty card in the package, and they clearly have some QC problems that might affect other people too, so I think three stars is an alright rating, all things considered.
