Ok, so here we go. I don't really know why this product exists. That is to say what it's real purpose is( just kidding). I however do use it to hold my cell phone, as it was intended just mine hold my phone at 70+ MPH as I fly down the interstate. Let me tell you it does that job perfectly. I was looking for a cell phone holder that I felt I could trust while on my motorcycle, and this was it. I have hit potholes, rough roads, short stops, and crazy traffic and this thing holds on like its life depended on it. Truth is, it does. This clamp is made of metal and is sturdy as can be. I have thought about buying more for other accessories however I have run out of handlebar space. Seriously though, I ride my motorcycle everyday and this was the perfect long term solution that I could trust. I would buy it again in a heartbeat. UPDATE: Thought I would add what else I used to make this work on my Motorcycle in case anyone else out there is trying to do the same. The handlebar clamp I used is at the following link. Goliton® Articulating Magic Friction Arm Large Super Clamp Crab Pliers Clip w/ Stud Adapter 1/4" and 3/8" Included for camera DSRL -Black http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00G6BBORK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Work Great and holds strong. This item is listed as no longer available however I am sure you could find it elsewhere if you were inclined to look. The Adapter I used is here. SMALLRIG ® 1/4" Male to 1/4" Male Threaded Screw Adapter (2-pack) http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007LTH1X2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 These are not centered correctly however that is what happens with threaded items. Just go to your local hardware store and pick up a couple of plastic washers and add them in until you get it positioned right where you want it. Hope this helps some of you out there, Good Luck. I had a plastic phone mount that came with my Joby Gorillapod, but my new iPhone 6 Plus doesn't fit, so I needed something different. When I stumbled upon this metal one, I was very excited to try it out. One of my fears with the plastic mount was that it felt delicate - like it wanted to break at the most inopportune time. That fear is no more with this beautifully machined aluminum mount. Sure, it's bigger and heavier than the plastic one (which even folded flat), but this metal one is tough to beat. In today's world where cheap plastic is abundant, it's nice to see a product with good, solid, quality, metal construction. I also like that rather than having a spring, which can wear out, this mount employs a simple thumb-screw to adjust the size and lock the mount onto the phone. There's virtually nothing to wear out with this and I have no doubt that it will provide years of reliable service. This "XL" version fits my iPhone 6 Plus with room to spare. The "jaws" open extra wide to accommodate almost any behemoth phone you might have - up to 3.6 inches. For smaller phones, like the iPhone 4 or 5, there's a "regular" version.. The rubber pads protect your phone from damage while in this mount (just don't go nuts torquing the thumbscrew too much - it's not necessary for a secure hold). Best of all, the standard tripod thread means you can put your phone on top of virtually any tripod of your choosing. There is really nothing not to like. This RetiCAM mount is perfect and I'm thinking about buying another one just to have on hand in case I misplace or lose this one. Read more

This little tripod mount works exactly as advertised, and lets me use my phone (with Moment case and lenses) on standard 1/4"-20 tripods like big DSLR tripods or the GorillaPod. It feels well-made and sturdy, much more so than spring-loaded mounts that squeeze the phone—this one screws down to the exact amount of pressure you want, making me a LOT more confident that the phone with the relatively heavy lenses won't be going anywhere. The adjustable size also means it works with relatively small phones all the way up to our gigantic oversized phablets of 2019. If I had one critique, it's that the wrap-around ends on the screen side come down a little far, especially for modern phones with slim side bezels; the result it it blocks a tiny amount of the display. Not a big deal when you're doing mostly hands-off photography or filming, but it can occasionally get in the way of some camera controls, depending on your phone and its software. Read more

This mount is probably the best of the crop -- I guess you get what you pay for. I like the design and the very secure way the clamp grips my iPhone 6 in Luvvitt Ultra Armor case (another winner by the way). The only thing I'm not sold on was the decision to use plastic slider rods on either side of the adjustment screw. The rods are pretty flexible and allow the whole clamp to slightly deflect and bow out from top to bottom (see others' attached images). I solved this problem a trip to my local Ace -- I opted to replace the plastic pins with slightly longer 3/16" dia. clovis pins cut down to about 2.5" in length. Even though my digital caliper measured the both sets of pins at 3/16", there was just a slight bit of play when using the new stainless pins. A tiny wrap of clear tape on the new pins made them fit snugly, but loose enough to slide. In retrospect, I should have take the mount the hardware store with me. There is a lot of variance in the finished size of the clovis pins; I'm sure I could have found a pair that fit more snugly -- another 1/32" would have been perfect. Read more
