Smeg BCC01RDMUS Fully Automatic Coffee Machine Red

First, I ordered this from William Sonoma back in December and they kept sending emails of delay. I saw this on this site and ordered it. Got it within the week and saved myself the tax and shipping. Great job to the seller on sending it fast and offering those perks. I ordered it in red and the one review prior said the machine they received leaked all over. Mine works great. This machine grinds the bean and brews the coffee so while it is a pleasure to sip freshly brewed coffee, there is some maintenance to be done to continue to have that fresh brewed coffee. One would think it would be hard to clean but this machine is ingeniously designed. Clean up is easy and relatively fast. There was a bit of a learning curve to use it but the manual is very thorough. I have referred to it several times in the last month but now I "know" my coffee maker. If the instructions are followed, you, too, will have great coffee. I highly recommend this product (and seller) if you love a good fresh brewed cup of coffee and are willing to do some minimal cleaning each time to achieve that great taste. On pricing, it is a pricey coffee maker but I wanted something that did it all in one. And this does it. It is relatively fast - by that, it takes a few minutes to get your "hot" coffee - but that seems normal as it takes a few minutes to heat up water. It has a built in cleaning after you are done by hitting a sequence of buttons and this forces hot water through the tubing so that when my husband wants a cup of tea after my cup of coffee, it does not taste like coffee in his tea. So far, so good. It takes a little learning curve to remember all functions. I keep the book next to my coffee machine. After you remember all function, it is a breeze to make coffee. I am using the machine about 3 months and already did descaling (deep cleaning) 2 times. You need to buy good descaling product for that. Coffee tastes great! I recommend this machine. Read more

BCC01 arrived, I unboxed it, got it set up and attempted to brew that first cup of coffee per the directions; water leaked everywhere and NOT one single drop of coffee was dispensed. Then I tried to call SMEG support (which by the way there is no SMEG support, you have to work with a local service group) and arrived at a prompt telling me that they are closed and will reopen on Tuesday January 4. I was excited to receive this small, sleek espresso machine as I had been looking for something that would take up minimal counter space. The machine is very nice with a simple design. Unfortunately, almost from the get-go, I began having problems with it. Less than a week into having the machine, the "single serve" button stopped working. I reached out to Smeg's service provider and they notified me a replacement machine would be sent - great! A few weeks later when the replacement arrived, I was horrified to open a box which contained an unwrapped, unprotected machine. Needless to say, when I pulled the machine out, it was damaged. The main body had been fully scuffed up and the resting tray was completely dented. I figured I would still try my luck to see if at least the machine was working, but this time I was met with weak coffee. I contacted Smeg service again and while another replacement was promised, I was later notified that the machines were on backorder and I would need to contact a local rep for additional assistance.
