I purchased this garment rack to use in a tiny apartment in addition to a closet. It is absolutely perfect. I love the area on top to put handbags in the drawers. Held up just fine. I've had it for almost 6 months. I use it on the daily and it still looks nice and it's very sturdy. It was not difficult to put together by myself. It easily holds about 15 garments on hangers. This is a very nice, compact clothing stand, I am using to replace my more “traditional” valet stand, which I just did not find to be very functional. The unit arrived very nicely packaged (kudos to the packaging engineers). It took a while (nearly 2 hours) to assemble (and I have assembled many similar products). I laid out everything ahead of time and checked to ensure all parts were shipped). It turns out 2 parts (one left side, one right side) bars were missing (Part J, n=2). These provide some stability at the bottom. They are not “critical” thus I assembled it, given that the unit is so nice, and repackaging and return would have been a major hassle. Be sure to thoroughly and completely read the pictorial instruction sheet! Many of the parts are VERY similar, but uniquely different enough that they need to positioned EXACTLY as indicated. I probably spent a good 30 minutes removing and replacing parts to the correct location and orientation, for proper assembly. My only disappointment was in missing the 2 Part J bars which do not materially impact functionality (I did report the missing parts). One reviewer noted that the unit cannot be placed directly up against a wall since standard hangers are wider than the unit itself, and that is correct. You will need about a 2” gap between the rear of the unit and the wall. There are 2 possible solution— use “child-sized hangers, or use the unit as a corner-stand (as I did) to counter act this disadvantage. You could also use a more narrow “pants clamp hanger” (as pictured) however that would not allow for hanging a shirt. Overall I REALLY like this unit, and Adrianne no longer complains about my “in-use” clothes strewn about the bedroom chaise and floor! The 2 soft-side (but quite sturdy) drawers are a real bonus as well. I deduct 1 star due to the 2 missing parts and their 4 machine screws. 5 stars otherwise. If these 2 missing parts were “show-stoppers”, this would get 0 stars! However, I can cut and paint black, two pieces of 14.25” furring strips to replace these 2 missing parts. The unit is working fine thus far without the parts in place, but I hope the seller will ship them to me as requested; Given that they are positioned the very bottom side, my painted wood-strip substitutes will not be obtrusive (if I ever get to making them). Perfect for our tiny slot of room in our house (we got a narrow unit). Once assembled, it's quite sturdy. Suggest that when you are putting this thing together, do so on a solid floor. Also, insert the screws and leave them loose. Once all the screws are in place, start tightening them little by little starting from the bottom up....check for wobble before putting in place. This is great! It fit perfectly in a small corner where I needed more storage. It was fairly easy to assemble, seemed study enough when done, and looks nice all put together. The drawers aren’t for heavy things but they are decently strong and the pulls are wood which makes it look nicer. I was concerned that the clothes hangers would be too wide to fit when the piece was up against the wall, but they fit fine. A great buy. Read more
