This item is okay, but not as pictured, and yes, I went up several sizes. It's boxy, not long at all. For reference I'm 5 ft 6, average build, so there is no reason that an XXL should sit above the top of my hips like it does. There is zero chance it will drape or give any bum coverage as is shown in the item pictured. I missed the return window or I would've sent it back. It is soft, but I can't overstate how insanely boxy it is. Like I have several handfuls of excess fabric on the sides of my torso billowing out, even if I cross my arms or put my hands on my waist it looks too square and bulky. Most inconsistent product I’ve ever ordered I think. I started with a medium, since the listing recommended ordering a size up for the slouchy look. Was too baggy and too long for my height, couldn’t get to lay right at my hips, so ordered a small (same listing color, seller, etc). Only to receive a a sweater made with a whole other yarn, which changes everything but the pattern they programmed into the machine. We’re talking texture, color, drape (aka how the fabric hangs/lays), and resulting size (thicker yarn = bigger sweater all else being equal). The medium is a bright red thicker, soft but almost scratchy yarn that seems like it will pill readily, that is fairly voluminous in drape (fabric a little stiffer). The small is a darker red, in a finer smoother yarn that drapes beautifully and the sweater feels much softer/silkier. The size difference between the two is a bit astonishing. Order at your own risk, I guess? You want the one with the viscose blend, btw. It is nice in this yarn. Read more
