These lights are very nice. Work great and feel very well constructed and give off a nice amount of light. It comes with a remote. The remote works well, but well will probably just use the auto feature (dusk-dawn) but it is nice extra feature that the remote is included. I put these on the head of my dock and they provide a good low light at night so it’s not overwhelmingly bright but provides just enough light. This is a one year followup. Live in Socal and the exterior of the lights still look new. But now the batteries in both are starting to go bad. I've had mine on the 3 hour setting which works just fine for my back yard but even with that, the batteries didn't make it a year and they are a special battery. It's a lithium Ion 18V 2.6Ah 3.7 volt specially wired battery. There is nothing listed on the description for the lights here on amazon and I clicked into the Javon Store, absolutely nothing listed. To access the battery you have to take the lid apart, it's almost like they are treating it as a one and done thing. So I got to the battery and got the numbers off of it. Sure enough after some detective work I found a replacement here on amazon, 2 pack for 24 bucks. Got to wait a week for them to come, so the light goes back together and back on the post until I get the new ones. First let me begin with a couple of reviews I've seen where it was stated that they can take E26/E27 normal bulbs. Well not exactly, yes normal "looking bulbs" but they have to be low voltage 12 to 24 volt bulbs which are available. normal bulbs sold in the US, 110v will not work. But back to the lamp itself, I had post top lamps in my back yard but the system has been in use since the early 70's and our Southern California clay soil finally took out the old galvanize conduit and took the wiring with it. So I abandoned the system, took the old lights off the posts and bought these lights. Very easy to install, look great on top of the poles. The bulbs they come with are semi adequate but only give off 240 lumens. I wanted more light so I got a 65 watt equivalent, 6 watt Led 12/24v low voltage bulb that gives off 600 lumens of light and the lighting is now perfect for my back yard. The lights come with settings for dusk to dawn to a timed setting from 3, 5 and 8 hours. I dont want them on all night so I set them for 3 hours, they come on automatically at dusk and run perfect. And if I go out and need the light they can be turned on manually off the remote. I like the remote control feature too and just the one remote works for both lights. So I have one backup too. Haven't had them long but so far so good. And the craftsmanship and materials are so much better than the junk tin ones at Lowe's or Home Depot. I bought the two pack . And what's nice is that they can be used on posts or they also come with the bases so that can be mounted on walls or fence posts.
