Customers say
Customers report mixed experiences with the heat gun's functionality, with some saying it works great while others mention it doesn't light at all. Customers report issues with heat range, noting it doesn't heat up enough, and leakage problems with the lighter leaking butane. Customers consider the product overpriced and not a good investment.

It doesn’t work. Just bought butane from Home Depot and filled the canister. Nothing. I can see a spark, I can smell the butane, all it does is push out butane with no heat. Taking the tip off allows it to produce a good sized blue flame, but it needs to be flame less for how I intend to use it I managed to get it working somewhat by taking it apart, cutting a circle out of one of the meshes with a dremel, sanding both meshes with the dremel, then adjusting the butane to the lowest setting. After some gentle presses of the trigger it finally did work. But the presses weren’t very consistent. It takes a little TLC to get it started initially. After it heats up, then it will consistently light. Read more
I've had three of these to use on heat shrink tubing and use them sometimes 30 or 40 times in a day installing and repairing wiring on boats. They work like a charm but wear out pretty quickly in my work environment. Definitely worth the cost. Read more
Overall cheap feel and lighting it requires several trigger pulls. Tried adjusting the flame on the lighter to compensate but still several pulls. No improvement using the provided refillable lighter. Also, the disposable lighters I bought required me to remove to flint wheel in order to get it to ignite. Likely, the wheel is impeding the lighter from sitting in the correct position. It's pricey for the lack of quality and design flaw. Read more
Very easy to keep in a travel bag for field use, and works well for heat shrink tubing, solder sleeves, etc. My main complaint is that it takes multiple attempts to light most of the time. Read more
This is an awesome mini torch it surprisingly throws high heat for its size and the best part is you just pop in a lighter for fuel refill. Read more
would need a regular cigarate lighter to get it to actually light, not consistent when trying to light as well, might light here and wont the next couple times, stupid hard to remove the cap to refill as well. i bought it for custom sleeving, even then i find myself just using a small torch as it heats better and faster Read more
I have been looking for something like this for heat shrink. I do not like using a naked flame for heat shrink - it is too easy to burn it and care must be taken. In the shop I use an electric heat gun (they are pretty cheap) but in the field youre pretty limited on what can be used. I do not necessarily like the butane tank setup - it uses a regular cheap-o lighter from any gas station. The one that came with mine has the flint removed. I am thinking if I buy a lighter, I will need to use some pliers to yank the flint out. I have plenty of cans of butane for re-filling, but I can see myself working in the middle of no-where someday and running out of butane. So a common source for fuel is a good idea. Though, cans of butane are pretty easy to come by as well. And for those noting that it doesn't come with butane...I don't believe you can ship butane. Usually flammables are off limits. Any home/hardware store carries cans of butane. I like the Scripto Premium 5X Refined butane. Comes in big cans and has a number of different tips built into the cap. The small cans from other brands are handy to keep in a tool box. Just don't be a dummy like me and have some other heavy tools dent the can and then leave it in a hot truck. Makes for a really bad time. Always remember SAFETY THIRD! Read more
