This was a great shirt for the look. It doesn't feel overly cheap, which so far I've been pleased with. Biggest complaint is that it is pretty snug. I'm a true large and the large was snug, should've gone up a size. The smaller than normal fitting is the only reason I have 4 stars, and in the future if I needed another one, I'd certainly buy this again except just get a size larger. I bought this two sizes larger than my tshirt size to accommodate a inner t-shirt (cold weather) and be a little extra baggy and give room for some shrinkage. It worked out just right. I am a big guy (6' 230) and I had no problem getting into or out-of this shirt. The cuffs on my shirt fit my wrists fine (9" at the wrist) and it has two buttons to go even bigger. This shirt (in black) is made from heavy cotton cloth like old-school wrangler brush poppers. So it is very tough. The eyelets on the collar are tight and solid metal. The included leather thong worked fine. These look great with kilts or jeans and have an authentic cultural feel that much modern clothing has lost. I'm planning to buy more of these. Read more

3rd generation costume maker bought everything this year: Washed normally, hung to dry solely to preserve "homespun" look. Did not bleed at all! Very pleased with quality, comfort, and fit. Pic taken after 10 hours of continuous wear. Blousing still perfect on our husky "model". Added beads ourselves, fairly easily, due to quality of provided suede thong...inferior quality would have torn under methods used. Thong did not bleed, either, though blackened suede of most types usually does. Grommets were all lined up exactly, in perfect condition. Flawless stitching throughout, no trimming needed, good quality thread used on good quality material. Unless grommets later rust (which can be corrected, carefully), will provide years of comfortable and good looking wear. Highly likely to buy more of these in different colors from same seller. Purchased this for my boyfriend to wear to a Renaissance Faire a year ago. The material is a little stiff and itchy so he wore a white cotton undershirt beneath. He's 6' tall and typically wears a size small shirt, and this fit fine though the cuffs of the sleeves were a little tight so I'd imagine it would be an uncomfortable fit for anyone with larger wrists. You can see what I'm talking about in the photo. It was a cheap & quick option and did the job, but it got kind of dingy after the first wear and we threw it away so I'm not sure how long it would last otherwise.
