Sonic crossworlds is an incredibly fun racing game full of charm and player customization. The main game consists of 7 grand prix, each with 4 speed levels, and a secret grand prix which each consisting of 3 unique tracks and a final track which is a remix of the previous three. In these grand prix you interact with a rival that is randomly selected or can be chosen as a nice extra bit of charm giving characters the chance to express themselves. Theres also a party race mode which allows unique rules like teams and ring collecting matches and lastly a time trial mode. While there is no story mode or large single player focused open world style mode I have found myself, a single player focused person, having way more fun just playing though these grand prix races. Crossworlds tracks are all charming and enjoyable, the items are pretty fun, the soundtrack is great and the ability to alter your loadout helps in making your gameplay style feel uniquely yours. A quick example is equipping an gadget that makes the basic attack item, the boxing glove, be almost 3x the size while also affecting how often the glove appears in the item boxes. This allows you to choose a very aggressive style to pummel opponents or you could choose a very defensive loadout and try to secure victory with superior driving. Its simple but adds a unique flare to the game as a whole. Vehicle customization can be done quickly and easily or you can get a little more in depth if you so choose. The only drawback is vehicle pieces are locked to their type, so you cannot take a speed based front and add it to a power type back, or a boost type back to a handling type front, etc. You can however mix and match any pieces in the same category, even dlc pieces, and either color them with a characters chosen theme colors or manualy change colors piece by piece. While I cannot remark on online gameplay, I can say that Crossworlds is buttery smooth and the load times are fantastic. Best of all, especialy if you are a big sonic fan, its 23 character base roster covers a ton of sonic history from the chaotix to the babylon rogues and even some of the sinister six. All in all Crossworlds is an incredibly solid racing game that delivers a straight foward fun experience. Read more

This blows Mario Kart World out of water, the gameplay is so much fun and multiplayer is a blast . There’s a small update that enables enhancement on the Switch 2 and I’m able to get 60 FPS gameplay. The tracks are well designed, lots of replay value the way they introduce wildcard elements to each race. Sega is still making amazing games and I’m here for it. Read more

By far the best Sonic racing game in the series!! And yes compared to Mario kart world this one does a much better job at giving people a competitive 3 lap racer! It goes beyond just being a traditional kart game with the gadgets system, essentially allowing you to have differing kind of “builds” to fit your exact player style (attack/defense/speed etc.) for example. Customization for the karts is fantastic with more teased on the way from Sega, not to mentioned all the dlc characters and maps coming soon. Single player, split screen, and online play feel fantastic to play for anyone, this game is truly a full package well worth the $70 price💯 Read more

Sonic has been great lately because of the movie series. It got confidence again with really good 3D platformers and a racing title that was actually fun. I was kinda disappointed that Mario Kart World broke the arcade roots in favor of open world and i honestly don’t care for, i understand that Nintendo they wanted to make something new for Mario Kart but boring in execution and i really don’t like Nintendo’s business practices. This new Sonic racing title on the other hand actually has arcade style of racing, chaotic but in a good way and fun rival interactions with the characters. I honestly to say that I found the new favorite racing game since Sonic Riders 1-2 and Sonic and Sega all star racing 1-2. I also heard good things about Kirby Air Riders i hope it would be just as good as Sonic Racing Crosswords. Read more

An excellent arcade kart racing game. The single player, split-screen, and online modes are fun, but I would have appreciated a story mode. Due to that, I do not feel it is worth $70. Wait for it to go on sale for like $50. That aside, it is worth the purchase! Also, the soundtrack is amazing. Read more

If you enjoy Mario Kart games, this game is the best alternative out there. Its similar enough to enjoy if you enjoy Mario Kart, but different enough to feel that you're playing a different game. I consider Mario Kart offers a more polished racing experience, however, this game is also very good and the races are more challenging. I don't recommend buying this at $70, but for $40-$50 its a worthy purchase. Read more

Wow!!! I’m a big Sonic fan so once I heard about this game I had to check it out! The soundtrack is cool, the tracks look and feel great, & I like how the racers all have their own intro. So glad I found this for only $40 on Black Friday! Read more
