This is our dream TV! Perfect, clear, superior sound! We love how we can set it to a normal volume and hear both the quiet scenes and loud scenes clearly and without discomfort or frustration. All previous TVs made us increase the volume a quite bit to hear soft/quiet scenes clearly, but then the loud scenes would be much too loud while we scrambled to get the remote and turn it down again. With this Sony Bravia 3, we can hear most things with a volume setting of only 5 (out of a possible 100!) if we have others in the house studying or sleeping. We have never had to elevate the sound above 25 even if there is other competing noise in the house or outside. The picture quality is wonderful, too. We no longer have to close the drapes to watch because the TV is crystal clear in spite of any glare from outside. Scenes that show space and stars are like looking up into a dark sky on a clear night. Now we are getting a 55-inch for the bedroom! Read more

Love it! All my TV's are Sonys. They have a great picture, last forever and are simple to use, unlike others I've tried. They are not complicated to adjust settings like others. I am loyal to this brand for TV's. Read more

I have owned Sony TVs for decades. I continue to like the color and performance very much. But I took off one star for Google TV. Setup requires Google Home which failed. It requires backdooring the security on your router. Thus, you have to turn off your router security. I refused so it didn't work. I installed regular TV instead. I noticed that the network came up fine without Google Home. Then I essentially did a manual install of Google TV. After an hour, it worked. Ordinarily I would not have bothered but you need Google TV to install the apps like Disney+. Now everything works and no Google Home and no security holes. I strongly recommend Amazon Fire Cube instead. Much easier and it works with all of your Sony devices including your home stereo equipment. (Old DVD players not so much.) I still like the TV part very much. The color is great, the 4k scaling is superb. And you can stream 4k to it. The sound is a question mark. At my age, my hearing is not so good, so I just don't know. Thought about a soundbar but that may be overkill. Read more

It was time for a new replacement smart TV. We wanted a top quality picture along with good sound. This Sony Bravia 3 was not the lowest price, but reviews strongly recommended this unit. We are really happy with this new TV. It took less than one hour for a novice to set it up and the best surprise is that we immediately noticed the TV speakers are superior to the previous TV and its associated sound bar. The picture is excellent and, important for our home, the size and scale for our home is almost perfect. Great picture, great sound and blends in with our home decor. It’s perfect! Read more

The picture quality is good overall, but I’ve had two consistent problems. First, the audio will randomly cut out when using an Nvidia Shield Pro. Restarting the Shield doesn’t fix it. Restarting the TV does, every time. It’s repeatable and annoying. Second, if you don’t use Google products, this TV is a pain. I use external devices specifically to avoid the built-in TV OS and limit data collection. Unfortunately, the TV updates itself frequently, and those updates tend to re-enable apps and settings I’ve already disabled. I end up going back through menus to turn off a long list of apps that exist mainly for ads or tracking viewing habits. I bought four of these at once and didn’t install them for over a month, so returning them wasn’t an option. If you’re deep into the Google ecosystem, this may not bother you. If you value privacy be prepared for the challenge. Read more

Easy to set up. Great clear sharp picture. This was a replacement for a 20year old Sony, which still was working, but down to only 1 working HDMI port. I would recommend this TV. Read more
