This is a good set of sticks. It comes with 6 sticks and covers, a screwdriver and a prybar. The picture with a ton of tools is everything you need. The other picture has a 3d printed tool in it. It is a solder scroll. It makes this entire process easier. Tools needed: Prybar (included) Soldering Iron Leaded Solder, preferably rosin core (not lead free) Micro cutters/wire cutters/flush cutters #00 Philips screwdriver (included) Flux Replacement sticks (included) Helping hands Solder Sucker/Desoldering pump Tip cleaner/brass wool Copper braid/Desoldering wick If you have all tools above, the process will go smooth. I recommend a practice board. I used a junk ps4 controller as the sticks are very similar. I practiced desoldering the sticks so the ps5 ones went without issue. Something also important to mention, I picked up my first soldering iron the day before the install. A absolute beginner can do this. Now onto the review of the sticks. They are great. Calibration was easy and worked first try. It had a circularity error of 6%. Stock had 10%. An immediate upgrade. The clicks for r3 and l3 are VERY satisfying. They seem more mouse like than stock. Very clicky. They have a smoother glide too. They have no drift. The game pad tester had no movement and showed full motion. The YouTube video was great and the comments were a huge help. I recommend the piece by piece method. It worked great for me. I have two more controllers to do this to. And on top of alllll of that, they slap Sony right in the face! I don't have to buy replacement controllers anymore. These will never get drift*! *technically they can but that is due to the centering spring and not to the sensors. This is rare and may happen after a lot of use. 2000+ hours Read more

The sticks arrived nicely packed with screwdriver, pry tool, and tweets. You get the hall effect pots and new sticks (which look and feel like OEM sticks. Install wasn't super easy due entirely to the non-leaded solder Sony uses. I've only been soldering for a week though so the difficulty I had may be due to lack of skill. That said, I still had to crank my soldering station (Weller 1010) to the max of 850F just to get the existing solder to melt. I took one old stick out by cutting each leg into its own piece, then heating up the solder and pulling the piece out through the other side. Cleaned up after with solder wick. I got the other stick out using a cheap solder sucker and that worked great, but I still had to cut the old sticks up. Once I got the old pots out though, install was a breeze. Just make real sure you have the new sticks installed fully and flush to the board. Once I put everything back together I used the website mentioned in the video tutorial and it worked like a champ. Tested the controller thoroughly and everything works perfect. I'd highly recommend these if you have a soldering station and even a small bit of skill with it. Read more

I have 3 PS5 controllers with stick drift on the left stick. I figured I would give this a shot as it was a much cheaper option than replacing the controllers. This is a great fix for such a low cost. All you need is some patience and some skill to desolder and solder the new joystick on the board. A couple tips for good results, get a quality circuit board clamping kit to hold the board steady. Also, I had much better luck using a solder sucker instead of using a desoldering wick. I was able to repair 3 controllers in a little over an hour. After calibrating the controllers with the dualshock calibration website, all 3 controllers work great with no more drift. Hopefully, the days of stick drift are now over. Read more

I don't write reviews often, but this product was a disappointment. I was excited about this product as it came well packaged and the included tools worked well. I used this kit to attempt to fix two PS5 controllers with stick drift issues. For both controllers, I successfully installed the hall effect joysticks to replace the stock analog joysticks. I followed the video tutorials by SOSS Gaming very closely and calibrated the controllers. Both worked great initially and were able to be successfully calibrated with full range of motion and no stick drift. I celebrated as I thought the issue was fixed, however the sticks did not hold stick center calibration over time. One controller developed significant stick drift issues after only about a day and no amount of recalibration would fix the issue. The second controller would gradually loose calibration over the course of an hour or so. Initially it was possible to compensate for this in-game, but eventually the problem would become so severe that I would need to recalibrate the controller. This worked for about two weeks after which the stick center was so far off that any amount of recalibration would not fix the issue. PS5 controllers are expensive and I would like to be able to fix them, but with it being hard to find reliable parts the time invested is significant. Read more

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Returned because I didn’t want to dismantle my entire controller in order to replace the thumb sticks. Read more

First off, this will require some electronics soldering. If you’re not afraid of that, this package is great for fixing multiple controllers. The only gripe I have is the thumb stick hats slide off easily making putting the controller back together a little fiddle but not impossible. Secondly, dude has a YouTube video showing multiple options for removal of the old stick, some requiring very minimal hardware investment if you start with absolutely nothing but knowledge. Get a cheap soldering iron capable of handling lead free solder and you’re set. If you get lucky there will be a set on sale with everything you need. I’ve fixed two controllers so far and can fix a third. This whole kit and the soldering iron set cost less than a new controller as well. Read more
