This is a well made coffee maker of this type. You put your coffee in, probably a bit less finely ground than espresso so you don't need a super grinder for this, press down the grounds, pour the water on gently (can break the flow with a spoon so you don't dig a hole in the grounds) and wait maybe 10 minutes. Can use different ratios of water/coffee, different roast levels, to get a different result. Traditional Indian coffee then blends it with lots of sweet milk, but you can drink it different ways. It's made with stainless steel, the curved bottom of the upper chamber is well made and curves well, and holes are evenly distributed. I suggest using a cloth to protect your hands when handling it once the hot water is added. Read more

This is certainly a South Indian filter coffee maker and will do the job it is supposed to do. The lower container is made of thin stainless steel, and the free edge is rough with one sharp area that will likely result in a cut. Will be very hot to hold when hot coffee drips in there. Read more

I never used a coffeemaker like this, and I wanted to try it. Unfortunately, there were too many challenges that prevented me from using the unit. There were no instructions to assemble the unit-nothing on the box or inside with the unit. The containers are too small, and the stainless-steel containers are very thin. Because of the thin steel, when hot it would be dangerous to handle. The top ridge of the bottom container is not finished and prone to cuts. There is no handle, and no spout to pour the coffee out of the container. Poor build, and unable to make coffee or taste it due to poor quality of containers. Read more
