This is a small unit for a space heater, and this one also has a fan and it oscillates. The heater season is coming quickly so my tests were general tests of a heater during the final throws of summer. Either way I think the results will be valid to evaluate this heater. I like the temperature selection function. This is available from the buttons on the top of the unit or from the battery powered remote. I had only ever seen temperature settings on larger heaters before and it is a feature I like to have. The device itself has several safety devices which have developed over the years as space heaters evolved. The tip over works if already on and if it is off and tipped over. In the latter it will turn on and go into cool down mode and shut off. I also like the automatic time off function. I do like having a remote control to adjust settings without having to get up to change something. I also like how quite the unit is. It has a fan so it's going to make some noise and it oscillates so the gears would make noise. It is not very loud and is a soft, kind of what do they call it? a "white noise" kind of background noise. This isn't a heater designed to heat your house. It is small but gets a room up to temperature pretty easily. I mean, if the room is an open space to other areas it will probably never catch up, but in a closed, medium sized room it should get to temperature relatively quickly and will cycle on and off to keep it at the set temperature. My wife was forever complaining about our bathroom being cold. This heater has multiple levels and it puts out more than enough heat for our large master bathroom. It works well at heating it up quickly and seems to be made of very good materials. It doesn't take up a lot of space despite being a large heater. This thing is hot! Even in the lower settings it still outputs a decent amount of heat. The controls are pretty straightforward and although I'm not a fan of touch buttons, they were responsive and worked out of the box. There are several safety features which is much appreciated, for example the auto-ofr tip over function. There's also an auto off of the room happens to reach 123+ degrees f, but honestly I think that's a bit high before it shuts off. I feel like it should be closer to like... 100, or 105 but okay 123 is cool too. The unit feels sturdy and the handle at the back makes it easy to carry around. Wish there was a cord organizing method on the unit too to help keep things neat, but no only a twist tie. The front grill does get hot fast, so children and pets will need to be careful when nearby to avoid getting hurt. The unit does draw a lot of energy, but that's normal for electric heaters like this. As soon as I turn on I see my lights flicker probably because of the high power draw. When on, also like a lot of other heaters on the market the unit produces that "classic" electric heater smell that you're probably familiar with if you've had past heaters in the past. Overall, a nice heater that behaves like a tower fan. It's pretty small but generates a good amount of heat, perfect for a small to medium sized room. If you're looking for a temporary solution to heat a room and don't mind that familiar smell, this heater is a great solution and I recommend it. Read more
