SPANXshape Invisible High-Waisted Thong

I have been wearing shape wear routinely since my son was born over a decade ago. I wear some sort of shaper almost every day as I find mild compression on my stomach to actually be comfortable and like that it helps me maintain a healthier posture since I’m getting old enough to start caring about such things! I will admit that over the past few years I’ve deviated from Spanx brand, and while I’ve found a few from other brands that were quite good, there were many that were awful, and not ONE non-Spanx shaper had this high quality for anywhere near the current $48 asking price. I truly can’t get over how wonderful this shaper is and that it’s not well over $100 — I see now that you really can’t do better than Spanx! This is what I’d consider a medium intensity shaper: it holds you in and makes you appear a bit slimmer and certainly completely smoothed out in the waist area, but it’s not corset-level nor is it light coverage. I ordered size Large and I’m 5’7” and around 167 lbs and my waist/mom pooch is definitely my “problem area”! Once I had this thing on correctly I was amazed at how it fit like the most natural second skin: this Spanx shaper is thin in a very good way. It’s my perfect coverage level: enough that my waist is held in, but not at all binding or uncomfortable. Helpful hint: if it’s bunching up at all at the crotch, you probably don’t have it pulled up all the way! When it’s on correctly the top should lay directly below your bra/bust. For me it fits perfectly, no issues at all with bunching of fabric or the ends coming up or down like other shapers will often do. If you’re having any of these issues, make sure it’s all the way on, if it is, you may need a different size. I am usually a size L in pants and I always order my shape wear in size L as well and it can be a tight fit at first while pulling them on but it’s usually the right size for me. So these are a STRUGGLE to put on. When I opened the package, it looked child sized. Attempting to pull this up my body felt like a Herculean effort and immediately upon accomplishing the feat, I promptly took them off. The compression is out of this world and the shaper goes all the way up under the bust. It felt not uncomfortable but…weird. A large part of that I’m sure is because I don’t typically wear shape-wear but I think part of it too is just the extreme compression. I ordered this invisible waisted thong to wear under a form fitting dress. This was for a special occasion so I wanted to look my best. When I received this item I looked at it and thought “no way will this fit”. Fortunately this has a decent amount of stretch and the fit is surprisingly good. As a postpartum C-section mom who is trying to fall back in love with her body and who had also never owned any Spanx prior to this, I hit order immediately! Some may relate, others may not, but it can be a bit difficult finding a happy medium between the love, pride and joy that you can have with bringing a wonderful and amazing little being into the world and knowing that your body created that little being and also coming to terms with how bringing that phenomenal little being has changed your body. My main source of concern is in my stomach area due to the C-section. I am giving myself grace, of course, yet also actively working on this. Now that the backstory is out of the way, these Spanx are wonderful!!! Let me be honest and state that I despise thongs. I absolutely detest them. I find them to be the most uncomfortable and unsavory things I've ever had the displeasure of wearing but Spanx!!!! Somehow and someway, they have made these comfortable!!! I truly forgot that I was wearing a thong and also forgot that I was wearing shapewear!!! I now understand why so many people praise Spanx for their hold because the way that these snatched me together?
