Our bedroom lamp died after many years of service to our family. My wife went to amazon to find something we felt was what we could currently afford She bought these. And told me they were a set of two. I was fairly sure she paid too much because we didn't need two. They arrived I set them up, added our smart bulbs that are Alexa connected and turned them on. Very good lamps. I realized two was a nice idea for the bedroom. So I was happy. When she saw them, and felt them she had to check the receipt to check the price. These are sturdy as can be. The metal is thick and smooth to the touch. They look great in the room. When she told me the price, I said, "we only paid how much?". These lamps were exactly as they were advertised. I like them and had no problem taking them out of the box and assembling them. I would have liked them a bit taller, but I did read the measurements before buying so I was aware they would be shorter than I wanted. I took a chance because I thought they would work and they do, so I traded off a bit on the height, but it's all good. The one thing I had a problem with and the reason they are getting a 4-star rating from me instead of a 5-star rating is that one of the shades has a flaw in it. There is a "line" cutting right through the middle of the shade. It was obvious when I removed the shade from the box. I saw it right away, and someone in quality control should definitely have caught it! I put the shade on and put the lamp on an end table near a wall in my great room and turned it on. The line didn't seem as obvious with the light on and being up against the wall. At that point, I decided the flaw wasn't obvious enough for me to spend money packing the lamps back up and returning them. I really needed these two lamps. If you look up close, you can see it. If you are across the room, I'm not sure you'll notice it unless you're looking for it. I decided I would live with the flaw. Bought these lamps to replace some bigger, bulkier terra cotta lamps we’ve had for years in our living room. We have a Sears catalog home and although the house itself is large, it has many small rooms. I wanted something that would take up less space in our small living room and not obstruct the view out our front window where we have a panoramic view of the Blue Mountain in Pennsylvania. These really did the trick and for the price you can’t go wrong! And the packaging was nicely done, they are very easy to assemble. I purchased the black set.
